If you're concerned about backlight bleed, you want the Samsung.

But I'm right up there with you in not getting the slacker generation's obsession with weed and l33tspeak, although I confess I do like some somewhat modern rock. And the 21:9 aspect ratio. My first computer screen was a damn 6" green phosphor CRT and now I have 3440x1440 full color curved gorgeousness to control.

Almost makes up for never getting my Jetson's flying car, jetpack, or raygun in this brave new world of ours. Almost.

Yeah, it's really amazing how monitor tech has changed. I was a teen and couldn't afford one of those Compaqs... having a magnetic hard drive in one of those would have been Godly.

My first personal monitor was CGA, but I would go to the local college and sign onto a shell account with Procomm+ from monochrome crts. 3440 x 1440 is the pinnacle of monitor success right now. Give me a 40" 3820 x 1600 and I'm all in! biggrin.gif

You can have it right now. Just take an ordinary 42" 3840×2160 UHD monitor, and saw the top and bottom off. You could either leave the extra 10 pixels on the sides (which would make it super-ultra wide monitor), or cut them off as well.

Hey, you can have a Ferrari. Take a Ford truck and saw some stuff off and glue some stuff on. And you'll be there. lol

I have had my LG super wide screen for 6 months now and it is just great for everything I do. photo editing, video editing, and gaming.
I think it's a perfect display. I run it with my standard LG wide screen, both run through DP connection. edit: I am now running 2 of the LG 29" wide screens. wheee.gif

So you run 2 cards in your rig? But not in SLi since they are different.

So you run a 970 for 1 monitor and a 980 for the other?

Or am I missing something?

After a few days of contemplation, when I've the cash (and of course it's out) I'm seriously contemplating picking up that Acer X34 as my main/middle monitor (and then eventually upgrade the side monitors to 27" 1440p ones). Definitely going to be interesting to experience certain games on such a panel.

I am really geeking out over the Benq XR3501. Benq has some great displays if a bit pricey and this one has me really excited. I am however wondering about Freesync support. The spec sheet on the web says yes but the few reviews I find say no. Anyone gotten one yet that can confirm?

Subbing cause I love my LG 29UM65. Had it a few months now and outside of Blizzard games I haven't had any issues with the resolution. Just loaded up Skyrim last week and edited the .ini file and it worked great. I really hope 21:9 continues to grow.
