Samsung makes a nice freesync ultrawide as well i believe.

At this time only a few ultra-wides have free sync and fewer support enough range to enable LFC. LG nor Samsung have, that I am aware of any Freesync monitors that allow support for LFC so this means a narrow Freesync range.

What kind of experiences can the forum offer on transitioning from 1440p 16:9 to 21:9? I'm upgrading from 1080p and am dead set on 1440, but I can't decide what aspect.

You can change FreeSync range with few clicks and make it 30-75, sometimes only 35-75, depends. And also LFC is useless, nobody plays at 20 FPS. You don't pay for ultrawide that is certainly not cheap to play at 20 FPS. 30(35)-60(75) FreeSync range is very enough. If someone doesn't have PC to run ultrawide at 40+ FPS then just don't buy it and upgrade PC first.

Upgrade from 16:9 1080p to 16:9 1440p was great, and upgrade from 16:9 1440p to 21:9 1440p was even greater. Upgrading from 16;9 1080p to 21:9 1440p would be crazy great biggrin.gif

I can deal with crazy great. It's either the LG 34um95 or the Asus P277Q.

So where are these magic clicks that change the hardware limits of the monitor?

You edit the monitor EDIC and load it up, or download an ini file already made and update your monitor driver. Quite a handful of people have done it if you look up freesync mod.

In heads of people who actually know something instead of pretending to be smart with some sarcastic comments while knowing nothing.

FreeSync range is limited by software. Hardware limit is where you start to get artifacts and flickering and this is usually very far from FreeSync range set by manufacturer. For example ultrawides like 34UC88 or 34UC98 can do 35-75 or at least 40-75, while their default FreeSync range is 55-75.

Image quality is fine. Reading isn't a problem for me, and I haven't messed with the font size.

Not sure what you mean by black blocks, I haven't seen any.

Currently playing gtav with rhancer mod. It looks beyond amazing.
