You could always just use the VLC Media Player with libbluray on it and just set the aspect ratio to 2.35 which you could hardly tell a difference between 2.35 and 2.37.

Cool, thanks. I have a feeling I'm going to wish I had one at work, too. Like when I had dual monitors at home and only a single at work.

Yeah at work I have 2 16:9 monitors - 22 inch or thereabouts - one oriented portrait (stack my email client atop other documents or browser window) and the other landscape for the FEM interface.

The 34" ultrawide at home is soooooo much better. Of course if I had it at work I'd really want to game, and get fired. ;-)

Anyone running Nvidia 1070 ? Wondering if it's enough for 34'' ultrawide for high settings.

It is enough. In games like Witcher 3 it will get 40-50 on Ultra so going down to High is required for 50-60 FPS, but for less demanding games everything on Ultra no problem. Some struggle in the most demanding games, I mean lowering some settings from Ultra to High, rarely Medium in some broken games, but for the most part 60 FPS easily, there are not many games as demanding as Witcher 3 after all.

Hey guys i was wondering would the Crossover290W be a good investment to give 21:9 a try?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Perfect-CROSSOVER-290W-HDMI-LED-29-2560x1080-WFHD-AH-IPS-Slim-HDMI-Monitor-/401127660311?hash=item5d65125b17:g:2UMAAOSwVyRXTxbx

Im really loving the white/gold color scheme and would love to give it a try and was wondering if anyone here has had experience with this monitor.

Seems like my wish is coming true... A 21:9 HDR FreeSync monitor...

34" 21:9 size/aspect ratio
1500mm radius curve
3440x1440 resolution
Contrast: 3000:1
4ms VA panel
100hz
Quantum Dot technology used in Samsung's tv's to create HDR support
Adaptive Sync/AMD Freesync support (max 100hz, min hz not published, but hopefully under 50hz so it can utilize Low Framerate Compensation)
DisplayPort, and HDMI both support Freesync

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SYeb2zQ6fI

Now, the pricing will likely be the only issue.

My guess is somewhere around 1300-1500 USD but for those specs I would say it is well worth it. Id take this over a high end 4k TV in that same price point any day.

Need a longer video cable for my Dell U3415W going to Nvidia 1080, but not sure what cable to buy, Nvidia lists DP1.4 but the monitor I believe is only DP1.2
Should I just get normal DP1.2 > DP1.2 and call it a day, or the mini one, or MST whatever that is ?
Here's a list of connections on Dell.
1 MHL connector
1 Mini DisplayPort
1 DisplayPort (version 1.2)
1 DisplayPort out (MST)
