Should I just get normal DP1.2 > DP1.2 and call it a day, or the mini one, or MST whatever that is ?
Here's a list of connections on Dell.
1 MHL connector
1 Mini DisplayPort
1 DisplayPort (version 1.2)
1 DisplayPort out (MST)

MiniDP and DP works the same, mDP is just way more annoying to connect. Get some VESA certified DP cable and you will be okay.

So when can we expect 3440x1440 monitors with gsync and decent refreshrates 100+ for a reasonable price ? I love my PG278Q but I want to try an ultrawide, for some strange reason 4k does not intrest me at all, and 1200 for the X34 is just to much for me rolleyes.gif

3440x1440 G-sync 100Hz+ for <$1000? Not in this decade.

Maybe if serious manufacturers start to make them, but even then they will have to pay for G-sync module and their monitors will be of much better quality then the ones from joke manufacturers like Asus or Acer, so they will have right to charge for that. Do not expect any price drops in this segment.

FreeSync 100Hz+ 3440x1440 may reach some quite reasonable prices, again if serious manufacturers decide to make them, but with G-sync and manufacturers that are making those monitors with all of this childish branding and marketing around it - no chance for good prices.

I think it'll happen soon actually, when the 3440x1440 G-SYNC 144+ Hz monitors come in to replace the current 100 Hz ones (granted these current 100 Hz ones require an overclock to run at 100 Hz). Then I think it'll be possible to occasionally find the X34 and PG348Q for under $1k.

Yhm... Try living in Poland, where everything is 30%+ more expensive than in the US and median monthly salary is like $600. Just imagine living in for example France or Germany and paying what you pay now but earning 4 times less for the same job you are doing right now. Welcome to Poland, where GTX 970 is high end biggrin.gif

3200 pln is roughly 730 eur wich is just 50 eur more expensive than in europe, poland is not that bad if it would be +30% it would be 4400 pln wich it clearly is not comparing gtx 1080 prices.
