Hello Guys,

I remember that there used to be an official OCN Minecraft server several years ago so I decided to make a fairly vanilla MC server.

I have set up a Minecraft server with 50 slots that people can use if they want. To connect, put this into the address field of the multiplayer connect:

New ip is: 72.160.22.103:25565

if it wont connect at that IP, please also add: 98.125.254.83:25565

Here are specs for those interested: MC v.1.8.1 Survival (easy mode), economy and self-area protection abilities. PvP is enabled and you are able to kill eachother. There are no PvP arenas. If you have any other plugins to suggest please do so.

Here is a list of plugins available for players and how to use them:

FastCraft:

A plugin that improves crafting in Minecraft. This plugin makes crafting much faster and simpler by showing players what items they can craft and letting them craft items simply by clicking an item. The FastCraft interface is shown when a player accesses a crafting table, and will be shown in place of the normal crafting interface.

- Click an item, and it will be automatically crafted for you.
- Use the next and previous page buttons to navigate through the pages of craftable items.
- Hover your cursor over the book icon to read about FastCraft
- Click the crafting table icon to open up a crafting inventory
- Click the refresh button to re-sort the items

PreciousStones:

Not all of these are available and the blocks have been changed on the server. Check out the quasi-shop for more info.

You can visualize what one of your fields looks like by standing inside of it and typing /ps visualize, this will surround the field with glass blocks (placed inside of the field). This visualization is sent to the player's client directly and is not visible by any other player on the server. Once the player moves, the visualization will be removed to prevent people from interacting with it. This will help you visually see what is being protected.

Grief revert fields are just what they sound like. They are personal BigBrother fields. They will let you roll back any grief that was done within the field. These fields will record all block breaks by players who are not allowed into the field and all block breaks from explosions in the database. The blocks that are broken and recorded will not drop, they will just disappear. There are two modes to these blocks - you can have them rollback the grief on command when right clicking on them, or you can have them roll back the grief at a predefined interval

Any block with the snitch flag will create a field which will keep a record of player's activities within the field. It will keep a record of their entry, any block breaks and placements, and any block usage inside the field. You can see this list by right-clicking on the block or typing /ps snitch. You can clear the list at any time by issuing the command /ps snitch clear

Translocation will let you build in one place, and translocate that build somewhere else. It's basically the same functionality as the worldedit commands, but this will not let you duplicate items, and can be handed out to players in a controlled way.

How it works

You place your translocation field, adjust the cuboid to your liking, and then you name the field with /ps setname. Now it is ready to record.

It will record all changes to the area inside the field. Once you are done building inside the area right click or break the block to store everything inside the field. This will remove all the blocks recorded from the world and copy them to the database, and the translocator will disable itself ready for the move.

Break the field and take it to its destination, place it down, name it the same name you named it before and right click on it to revert everything it had recorded onto the new location. You then use the "/ps translocation unlink" command to unlink the blocks from the translocator (so that when you break it the blocks stay where they are)

You can allow people into your fields using the allow, allowall, remove, and removeall commands. The allowall and removeall commands allow or remove the players into all of your fields. While the allow and remove command only work for the fields you are either pointing at or standing in. If your fields are overlapped, then standing in one will allow/remove players from all overlapped fields.

Here is an example of what you can allow:

Command Description
/ps allow [player] allows a player into your field(s)
/ps allow c:[tag] allows a clan into your field(s)
/ps allow g:[group] allowed a group into your field(s)
/ps allow * allows everyone into your field(s)

Essentials:

Members are able to use essentials signs, please follow the tutorial here:
http://ess.khhq.net/wiki/Sign_Tutorial

Lockette:

The purpose of this plugin is to restrict access to the contents of chests, dispensers, furnaces, and doors without the use of a database to track containers.

To use, simply place a signpost on the floor directly beside a chest or other container to be locked. Enter [Private] as the first line. Your own name will automatically be entered on line 2 as the chest owner. Optionally type in the full names of two other users allowed to access the chest's inventory on lines 3 and 4.

When done correctly, the sign will automatically fix itself to the side the target chest, protecting it from unauthorized access! Only the chest's owner can then break the sign or chest.

To protect a door, you can use the same method as protecting a container, the sign will attach to the door automatically. In addition, you can attach a [Private] wall sign to any side of the blocks just above or just below a door. For double doors only one side needs a sign.

If there are any questions or server issues or permissions problems, please post in this thread.

Cheers~

Here are some pics from the server ---

I'd love to but the latency would be way too high

About those plugins, are they all server-sided? I mean they work for all players who join your game without requiring any additional client modification? Just curious 'cause I'm looking to build a mini private server myself. Hope you don't mind.
Thanks.

Yeah, these plugins are server sided. So a normal Minecraft client will run without issues.

Yes, they are server sided

Latency shouldn't be an issue unless you are very far away.

Sorry about the server being down this weekend, I had an unforeseen power failure and got the server back up last night. Everything is as it was at the time it went down.

Hop on the server guys, If we get it constantly populated; I will install some cool PvP or faction plugins!

Awesome server, one question. Lockette doesn't seem to allow me to place any signs. Did the permissions change or something?

Yes, I was playing with permissions a bit back, try again and you should be able to place and destroy your lockette signs again.

Awesome, welcome to the server! I saw you talking to another member in the console but I was not around at the time. Please have fun and let me know if there is anything server wise that needs changing.

Just type in [Private] on the first line and hit enter. It will handle the rest even if the name is too long.

Lol some cam dude took my chest, but I don't mind, unfortunate that I couldn't set a private chest at the time.

Oops, that would've been me.
:o
Sorry about that. I think I left a few things in there, but none of them were worth a ton of value to me. Feel free to take them if you haven't already.

Don't worry about it. I'll share the chest with you.

Last I saw you, you were 5000 blocks from spawn. Ever get to the village?
