Hi, I'm in the process of spec'ing a new ultra-low budget build featuring an AMD APU - likely an A6-6400K. I'd like to be able to overclock the IGPU, but the low end boards I've been looking at don't mention having an "IGPU Boost" [Asus term] feature or equivalent that allows adjustment of the IGPU clock speed in BIOS.
So my question is, can you overclock the IGPU in an APU in Catalyst Control Center just like a discrete AMD GPU? If so, that would work fine for this build and allow me to go with a cheaper mobo.
Also, having only worked with Intel chips before, I would like to understand how overclocking the NB figures into the equation for an APU. I haven't seen a good explanation of this yet as I've scanned the internet. All I've gotten is a vague statement that "if you overclock the NB, you effectively overclock the IGPU".
Thanks in advance for the help!
