I stick mostly to the default settings, except for one key. The switch between walk/run I changed from Ctrl to X. I find the default key is very awkward. Everything else seems pretty intuitive.

Any collector's out there? http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-013934&page=top

Will be playing this game soon. Havent played any previous titles, and dont plan on playing them either due to lack of time/ cant buy ps3 just for this game.
Anyway, is this game suited for keyboard and mouse or controller?
Thanks! smile.gif

I've found keyboard/mouse has the superior precision.

Mouse & keyboard is fine, outside of having to use wasd to move around the menus because of the lack of cursor support.

The mouse has superior precision, the keyboard not so much, you can't push your W key down slightly to have the character move slowly, it's gonna take it the same was as pushing a controller analog stick all the way forward. This was also one thing that bothered me about racing games with a kb/m you can't give the car 50% throttle its either 100% or nothing, but with a controller you can control that. That said i find that playing MGS with a controller has proved more enjoyable and a comfortable experience, especially in the menus. I played GZ with a mouse/kb, and decided to start TPP with a controller and i prefer it. Others may feel differently though.

That is true, but you can do just as fine with Shift and Ctrl to control movement speed. I haven't had any problems with it so far.

Aiming with controller analog stick is just so god damn bothersome. The fine movement is so off on controllers.

When I see people playing with controller, myself included, then they are trying for like 20 seconds to point the crosshair on the head slowly and having to adjust constantly.
It always is a bit too much right, a bit too much left, a bit too high or a bit too low.

And the worst thing is if an enemy starts moving then.

Same here. Even though I've played every other MGS title on a console with a controller, I couldn't do that with TPP. I've played the first 10 hours with a controller, but it just got so frustrating to aim precisely. I was surprised at how well the PC controls worked in this game. Once you get used to the control scheme it's a breeze.

Last but not least. I upgraded my helicopter to use guided missiles. How do I use them? I have no options when inside the heli, nor do I when I'm not the battlefield, looking for air support.

Thank you.

You need to equip it under "customize" -> helicopter smile.gif

Wrong, the keyboard only give you 3 speed options : very slow, normal and running

Controller give you more, in relation with the 3 speed above, if very slow = 1 and normal = 5 then controller analog will give you extra 2-4 speed, a game changer for sneaking

This is just turning into the age old argument of precise movement vs precise aiming. You can't have both.
