The game is brilliant in many ways, but it isn't a 10 by any means. It only got a 10 because certain game franchise always get good reviews no matter what. I still think the best MGS is number 1!

Tough to say, because I think 1 and 3 were absolutely phenomenal. Easily 20/10 for both.

MGS1 is my favourite aswell.

I think MGS3 is overrated, because it is the "easiest to understand" Metal Gear. It is very James Bond-esque and the story is not so confusing. It is the most straight forward MGS out there by far. That is why people like it so much.
Since it is the first MGS3 you didn't really need much knowledge of what happened before because Kojima could start there and expand on it instead of carefully constructing the world.
It is still a great game with memorable Boss Fights.

MGS2 was WAY ahead of its time and way too complicated for people. It is the "hidden" masterpiece in the series.

I recommend anyone, who has played MGS2, to watch this video. You won't regret it.

That's a great video, especially the conclusion.

I know I'm in the minority, but MGS2 was actually my favorite. I actually liked Raiden's character, and the gameplay felt so perfect. My only "problem" with it, was there were so many plot twists at the end, it made it kinda hard to follow. Overall it's still my favorite though.

As much as I'm enjoying MGS5, I can't help but feel they downgraded a lot of things so they could put more emphasis on the graphics and weather. For example, it bothers me that I can't see the tranq needles I shoot at people, and that lights can't be shot out (I mean cmon what year is this, I could shoot out lights in Golden Eye 64).

I'm pretty sure I can both see a tranq and shoot out lights, unless I'm hallucinating?

BTW, to break up the repetitive gameplay, I decided to call in a hell fire, a tank, D-Dog, use a light machine gun, pop flairs, call air support, throw grenades and use weather modification to take out a guard!

Cost 120,000 GMP in total! Awesome! Lots of explosions and fire! In the end I still had to shoot the guard in the head to end it!

You must be, either that or you have a different version of the game as me. I haven't been able to shoot out any lights other than spotlights, and haven't see any tranq darts anywhere ever.

If you are able to though, screenshots plz, so I can try to figure out why they don't show up in mine.

Speaking of tanks, i notice there is insane frame drops while driving. Jeeps as well. Not sure i want to use them if it continues to be that choppy. I can understand frame drops from rain, but driving?

You need the glass penetration modification to your tranq gun to shoot out lights I think it's level 5 tranq gun. And I've gotten lots of ammo for the tranq gun. It's scattered throughout outposts, usually on tables.

Does that work with lights other than spotlights? And I'm not saying there isn't tranq ammo, I'm saying that you can't see the physical darts once you shoot them. In the older ones you could see the darts sticking into where you shot them.
