Hello All,

We are working with Non-UEFI Graphics Card on Windows 8 Operating system . The Bios available with Windows 8 is UEFI. So we cannot able to install the windows default graphics driver and display only driver on Non-UEFI graphics card.

a. Can you specify any mechanism for upgrading Non-UEFI graphics card to UEFI compliance adapter . There is any firmware upgrade mechanism or similar options available.

b. Is there is any hardware dependency available for upgrading the firmware to UEFI compliance one

Please share your comments....

Thanks in advance

In the motherboard BIOS there may be a selection available for Compatibility Support Mode which will run non-UEFI components properly.

If not, most GPU manufacturers will send a compatible UEFI BIOS to flash on the graphics card. MSI sent me one for my 295x2.

Our understanding was that UEFI bios is the firmware available in the graphics adapter and it can be upgraded by some vendor provided utilities.

1) Is there any hardware dependency for upgrading non-UEFI to UEFI graphic adapter ie. it is possible to upgrade all non-UEFI graphics adapter.

2) What all the major challenges/changes involved in upgrading non-UEFI to UEFI firmware?

Thanks in advance,
