Wait for Skylake which is coming in August in this year. Please help

My current build is:-

sapphire R9 270x 2gb

I would go with the 8350 if you were going to upgrade, but with that setup you should be pretty good in games and overall performance. If money isnt a huge issue i would upgrade, but if money is tight i would probably hold on for next gen stuff.

The FX-8350 isn't on the approved CPU list for your motherboard. With the MSI 970a-G43, i would strongly advice against the FX8350 and get a FX8320E instead. The 8320e can easily be overclocked to 8350 stock speeds, but won't overheat the VRMs on your board at stock speeds.

4690K is a fine CPU, but I'd wait for something Broadwell or Skylake if you can hold out.

Honestly, keep your processor now. It won't be a significant upgrade from that fx to a 4690k unless you overclock it like mad. In all honesty, the only true upgrade would be going from that FX to an i7 3770k or an i7 4770k. Bought a 4770k on reddit, and I will say that it does wonders for multitasking. My i5 could never handle CS:GO, twitch streaming, and game capturing.

If you need to upgrade right now, I'd go FX8320E and overclock it mildly on your current motherboard. That's the most cost-effective option. If money were of no concern, I'd say get a high quality Z97 board and a i7-4790K.

It really comes down to how much you want to spend, and how much of an "upgrade" you're hoping to get. In my honest opinion, the 4690K isn't going to be much of an improvement over what you have now for the amount of money you need to dump into a CPU and motherboard.

If we were all holding out for the "Next Gen Stuff" we'd never buy anything. hahah
I did that for my Phenom II 965 BE. Now they don't make them anymore. haha

I think i will wait for skylake to see what it's offering if it's better than haswell i'll buy skylake otherwise i'll get i7 and a nice z97 motherboard(like extreme 6 or 4)

i owned an 8350 and crossfire 7950s, its in my sig, it ran bf4 like crap, hated it, im in the process of getting a 4690k and i can garuntee its going to be 100 times better.

the only viable upgrades that are going to make a substantial difference for you right now would be any pure chips. ie: 80's series nvidia GPU's or any of the newer i7s. you dont want to own a mid range system then only upgrade back to a mid range system again its a waste of money
