I've been busy so not too much lately.. We have some new sliders to play with, always some fun to be had there smile.gif

The only reason I left V4 at beta is because I think Gigabyte has some issues to fix with a new BIOS so hopefully they will be addressing the issues. V4BETA4 is definitely rock solid and I've been using it the whole time also. smile.gif

Stay tuned smile.gif

PS. I will always put the latest and greatest in the OP.

So just rebuilt my computer into a nice little corsair 250d, but with that came a fresh install of windows and now when using OC Guru II i dont get an option to switch the color of the LED (the box literally is just a g1 gaming eye and has no interaction ability) which leaves my GPU as blue and doesnt match with my otherwise red theme frown.gif, has anyone experienced this and fixed it (ive redownloaded the program like 5 times now.) or has anyone solved the mystery of changing the LED color without OC GURU?

Thanks in advance for answers or suggestions.

That's strange for sure... at least you know it is a software problem. Check for ANY other app that may be accessing/monitoring the GPU and possibly conflicting, even geforce experience.

reminds me of the LED challenge nobody has accepted yet wink.gif

Sweet! Nice CPU O/C there too!

Just for comparison, these are my (2) 980 SLI scores. Your CPU is way faster than mine smile.gif

PS. Passing on this tip again for those that might need it. Right-click pictures and select open in new tab for full size. smile.gif

Thanks! wink.gif
I've had to increase the cpu vcore from 1.31v to 1.32v (fixed, no power savings) to get rid of some whea errors, this cpu (4.8) & memory (2400 cl1) combo is not a bad one thumb.gif

Niiiice gpu score you've got there too tongue.gif
Even though the cpu score is somehow low
Man, you make me wanna go for a 980 sli biggrin.gif

So, you think my cpu could handle it well, without any performance loss?
My mainboard can only run a 8x - 8x pcie setup (@3.0, directly on Ivy's 16 lanes)

Coming from a R9 290 made me wanna do something to read some of the (missing here) vrm1 temps
So I got myself a laser temp gun, a cheaper model, hoping the results in high gpu stress weren't so far from the real results rolleyes.gif

Shot 1 (what do I test with?):

FFXIV Heavensward 4K Maxed, gpu @1551/800 liquid cooling fans & pumps on medium sett (28 C on the liquid):

The temps were somehow updated (a bit higher ovv) on the third run of the FFXIV
What do you think?
I was really expecting to see a 60 C max on the vrm1 (they could go even higher a bit more after hours of gaming and with a liquid temp also higher)
I've also noticed two "weird" things:
one is that every side of the pcb the temps were getting higher towards the bottom and (way) lower to the top side of the card
and the other one is that hottest spot (the hottest of all the pcb) that I've marked with the red square

Opinions? thinking.gif
Am I good for a 24/7 rocking daily (even if I'm using it much, much less for gaming)?

Edit:
Update after 1h of Project Cars @1440p, 72hz, DS2x, SMAA Ultra:
Vrm max temp 58-59 C (hwinfo64 vga max temp 41 C, gpu power max 85%)

VRMs go up waaaaaay past everytihng else. Most are rated for 110-120c and work just fine at 100c. Of course lower is always better, but 50-60c is pretty darn good. VRMs on my 770 got up to 90c regularly AFTER modding, before modding they would hit 105c and I'd get a bit of voltage droop that affected stability. You're good to go! Lower temps aren't going to do much since it's not memory or core, less resistance will give you a smidgen more voltage (like if you were at 40c or something insane) but that won't matter one bit since you're already stable and have your clocks dialed in. Even if you didn't it's like +0.006v more for -10c or something like that. (Really rough guess).

Easily...

You only NEED PCI-e 2.0 16x bandwidth... and PCI-e 3.0 8x = PCI 2.0 16x thumb.gif

Hey guys sorry for the stupid questions but yeah I just want to try the super MAX UNLEASHED bios before my x34 predator arrive...

1-I have x2 gtx980g1gaming and one is a Hynix/84.04.31.00.B0(latest bios for the SKHYNIX memory which is F11) and one using the Samsung memory bios 84.04.1F.40.01.Can I use the MAXUNLEASHED? madsmiley.png

2-I'm currently rocking a 4 screen setup and using both dvi , hdmi and the closed display port to the hdmi,... so I guess I need to flash both DD and DP but what about the card that has no monitor connected to it...

Sorry again for bothering with such stupid questions but Im in a hurry!!! rolleyessmileyanim.gif

Yes, as long as you carefully modify your bios to match instead of flashing F3 directly. Someone just asked a similar question which Laithan answered here thumb.gif

I think you need to flash DP for the no monitor card. If you're unsure, it can't hurt to flash both!
