I'm pretty sure DD is Dual DVI and DP is Displayport. There's a chart showing exactly which ports goes to what bios. If you're unsure you could flash both, but if you have to modify the bioses to fit your firmware version it's a lot of work and better to figure out what you're using. F3 Samsung is what these bioses are I think, if your card isn't an F3 Samsung you'll have to copy settings over manually.

DD and DP should be called "BIOS 1" and "BIOS 2" IMO... because "DP" doesn't actually stand for display port in this case. It just makes things more confusing. They BOTH support display port. wink.gif

Welcome to OCN!

Just checking, are all your sliders maxed out in MSI Afterburner?

Hey thx,

Sry for my Bad English, but i think when i have a mod bios, i no need to slid the sliders in msi afterburner?
my zotac gtx 980 amp! extreme card reached never the powerlimit he was always by 55-60& Power by 1480/3800 with 2x 8 pin.
why the 980 ti always on 90-105% Power?
when i make the powerslide on 150% i never run into the powerlimit.

i hope you unterstand my english biggrin.gif:D:D:D:D:D:D

modded bios require substantially more power, they way to get around this is by adjusting the power limit slider in MSI afterburner, having said that take furmark with a grain of salt, you will never see the heat and power draw in a game that you do in furmark or other burn in test.. If you are getting to 105% tdp in furmark you will be lucky to crack 90% tdp in game.

Power limit is something you can ignore with a mod bios. If you are talking about the TDP% sensor. When you MOD a BIOS, ignore it. Even if you don't, ignore it lol.

Furmark will eventually voltage throttle anything if you leave it running over +/- < 5 mins.. Furmark is not intended to test or measure voltage. It is a wattage test.

If you want a real challenge, run the FFXIV benchmark (free) @4k with max settings. You shouldn't get any throttling with that (which is an extreme GPU workload).

And cookieboyeli is corrrect. Your sliders need to be like this (and then you can overclock your core/mem from there):

It requires a secret decoder wheel biggrin.gif

All kidding aside, BOTH of the BIOS', DD and DP are capable of utilizing the HDMI port (and others are shared as well) but only ONE BIOS can be ACTIVE at a time (@PC power up). The way the DD or DP BIOS would be activated is through the monitor connections used. The diagrams are not always clear but I'll give you a hint wink.gif if you are using HDMI only that will be the DP BIOS.

Extract your BIOS with GPU-z and view with MBT v1.36 if you want to verify. The top line will show either D_D or D_P.

Hahaha that's a really good one Laithan. tongue.gif

Yea using GPU-Z is the easiest way to tell, whatever bios is active has D_D or D_P in the name. All I see are funny faces.
