GIGABYTE GTX 9xx H2O/AIR BIOS Tweaking ┌(ô益ô)┐ - Page 237

@Laithan,
Could you please take a look at this if you have time. I would like a second opinion. 970 SSC is pissing me off! I'm open to suggestions if you see anything that needs to be changed. Thanks in advance!

I think I may have found a way around the power limit on these weird a$$ cards.

It can be done in BIOS also but TBH, running your card at full voltage/full max overclock "24/7" isn't going to be recommended or really even suggested by most and that's not how we roll here wink.gif. You will generate a lot more heat and draw a lot more power. Using K-BOOST gives you the option to turn it on and off when you need it.

If all you really want is your GPU to not throttle under load, that IS how we roll here, K-BOOST not needed for that but you did say low loads, so for that you need K-BOOST biggrin.gif

Thanks for reply. I need it just for benchmarking, not for everyday usage. I prefer your V4 bios for everyday and here's some results with your V2 bios and my Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti SLi: http://hwbot.org/user/aurosonic/#My_Submissions ( press ALL)

Thank you for this bios.

Hey bud, hmmm... I'm using my secret decoder wheel now and I think I have the old old haha. The power % tdp is a useless sensor TBH, what are you expecting from it? I can take a look 'in general' to see if there is anything that stands out. smile.gif

EDIT: Took a look, looks good. Your total power allocated is 295W but you've got the max/tdp capped at 276W. You could try increasing that to 295W. The PCI-e is set for 82W, max is usually 75W but if you have no issues...

All kidding aside, BOTH of the BIOS', DD and DP are capable of utilizing the HDMI port (and others are shared as well) but only ONE BIOS can be ACTIVE at a time (@PC power up). The way the DD or DP BIOS would be activated is through the monitor connections used. The diagrams are not always clear but I'll give you a hint wink.gif if you are using HDMI only that will be the DP BIOS.

Extract your BIOS with GPU-z and view with MBT v1.36 if you want to verify. The top line will show either D_D or D_P.

Thanks Laithan, ok, now this is very clear. Sorry for the stupid question. I'm italian and i speak little english, for my is hard understand even simple conversations, sorry.

Sorry Laithan for the question but in this days i am very retarded (more than usual), HDMI connection is DD or DP BIOS?

With this picture i don't understand, i see both marked for HDMI headscratch.gif

Yeah, I also can confirm that the gpuz is the easiest way to find your bios is weather a D_D or a D_P one.
Furthermore, I wasn't able to trigger the second bios on my Gigabyte 980 on any of the three dp ports in a single monitor setup. I've only managed to do it using a dvi connection on the DVI-D port (with a dvi monitor since my Asus VN279QLB lacks of this port) in order to boot on the second bios (D_D Bios)

Not a problem, wasn't a stupid question. I'm sure it was helpful to others also. Thanks bud! thumb.gif

Laithan, thank you for the V4 BIOS on 980Ti, now I'm happy with what I can get out of my card. Epic job, buddy thumb.gif

Just one question: what d'ya think, is it ok to run my G1 card on stock air for 3-4 hours a day in games @1510/8000/1.237v with 72-75c? I'm wondering what the VRM and the card generally are feeling like?

Thanks for the feedback! smile.gif

No issue, the GPU's max temp is 91C so you're doing fine. Of course the cooler the better (custom fan curve pretty much mandatory as the stock isn't aggressive enough).
