Check out the release notes in the OP and especially the Mini-Knowledge Base about DD vs DP BIOS so you are clear. Any questions just let us know smile.gif

Many thanks for your reply. I actually think I dont need a higher clock but I still dont see where soemthing is to be gained... power limit ist at 110% but card doesnt go above 88% load anyhow. Also I dont believe the card is throttling, my clock is constant....

I read the knowledge base, and after decided I dont get much benefit. But maybe I missed something? How can see my if my card is throttling?

Many thankls again <3

As you know I've been keeping the 980Ti BIOS' in "BETA" until the STB issue was resolved, which I thought would require a new BIOS from Gigabyte but in fact a solution was found. Thanks Dante for this tip. We know it had to do with voltage and there was CLUE here the whole time that now makes sense.. We noticed that with GM200 the voltage defined in the BIOS is actually one step lower than what you would actually see under load. For example, V5BETA is configured for 1.262v in the BIOS but actual voltage under load will be 1.268v (the next voltage tick). We thought it was strange but didn't think too much more about it. Well finally the adjustment to the upper voltage sliders that corrects the STB is also ONE VOLTAGE TICK off so there is the correlation of the voltages.

This means folks that this BIOS is possibly a MUMOD candidate if all tests well thumb.gif

when will you update the H2O bios with the STB eliminated??

Can there be an update to the v4beta to fix the stb bug for those who want to stay at the lower voltage?

As for the NVCP settings, I always change to single monitor performance mode (only do this if you actually are on one monitor and dont have two different models of video card) and vsync off as I have never experienced tearing with my current system. Everything else on defaults. If anyone else has suggestions, I'd appreciate them as well.

Thanks again Laithan!

Use GPU-z check out the sensor tab and enable logging.

All STOCK BIOS' will throttle

Here is my bios tweak based on what Laithan taught me. using the 980ti G1 gaming bios from him as well so you guys can also try this out smile.gif

would never guarantee of a stable overclock on your card because some stock bios can reach beyond 1500mhz. mine is not like that so I tweaked it out.

Netxzero, what does it do?

Viepout, something seems odd there. My cards are set to +125 Mhz and that gets me to 1455 Mhz, not 1529... unless Firestrike is like Heaven that also reports a way higher clock than Afterburner does?

Laithan, thanks! I'm not going to get a chance to try it out for a bit, I've actually been running stock...it's weird but my redoing my processor and cache OC has given me a lot more stability on stock bios and voltage than I used to have. +125 mhz and +500 memory seems to be very stable now at stock volts and bios, ran 12 hours of witcher 3 in 3d vision today including alt tabbing back and forth to the desktop with no issues. My next step will be to see if I can increase it further on stock and see if it stays stable.

Delidded my i7 4790k. Somehow I broke a few pins off the socket taking it out, lol. Gosh darn it, I have dumb luck!

Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 will be here Tuesday. Just something to get by until I can afford a better board. RIP ASUS Z97-A!
