You can use the Gigabyte MUMOD 970 BIOS in the OP for a guide as the values will work for your GPU also. It would be much easier for you to open up the BIOS and see yourself.

I am not as familiar with EVGA cards but DarkAngel74 I am sure could give you some good advice on his thread. http://www.overclock.net/t/1573148/evga-gtx-970-ssc-gaming-acx-2-0-2-0-ftw-2-0-custom-uefi-firmware

I made small test.
I enter your sttings to my bios. Effect in 3dMark max clocks are 1392/1405Mhz and 1,23V nothing more...
I check it twice and settings are identical with your bos for 970.

ps. my card is MI 970 me100 (identical to gaming 4g)

I actually manage to go over 12k in firestrike with CPU @4.7Ghz, but I slightly clocked it down to 4.6GHz because I don't need it higher and dont want to put more voltage on the CPU.

I also ran Unigine Heaven for two full loops and then benchmarked. Result is attached.
Below's an excerpt from the GPU-Z log during Heaven benchmark, first one is with the highest recorder GPU Temperature I get. The Fan speeds are default, max at 65% speed, so if I would set a more agressive custom curve the temps would be actually lower.

1st log: highest recorder Temp in °C --> 65°C
2nd log: highest recorded Power Consumption [% TDP] --> 76%

Ah... you're running a GTX 970... for some reason I thought you had a 980Ti, my bad. That explains a lot.

The stock bios throttled at 201/232 @ 115% power target. Stopped throttling when I set the power target to 201/250 @124% and tdp to 250.

Great, thanks for the info. Sorry but what does "201/250" refer to?

I guess then my card is a real winner then, seeing how I get the same performance on stock bios and without even raising voltage as you did with a custom OC bios.
I'm curious whether I could make it go even further with modding the bios but I really don't think its worth the hassle.

What I find baffling is that my card doesn't draw more than 87% of max power, even when overclocked to 1520/8030mhz

201watts default/250watts max in the custom bios

Is it possible that MSI GTX 970 me100 has got some kind of "hardware power limit" ?

I see that I can put every value in power def and max but after 250W it doesn't give any effect?? 250 W limit for (6+8 pin connector)

While playing less demanding games, my card downclocks to 1290 core with just 1.087 mV voltage which leads to a TDR after a while sometimes. Any way you can edit my bios so it draws 1.2 mV for 1290 core? I'll attach the bios. Thank you. 980_d_d.zip 136k .zip file

Hey, after a lot of testing i'm now TDR free for 2 weeks in less demanding games. It took 1.212 mV from 1290 on. Going to attach the bios i'm using. Thanks for your help.

Took your advice Laithan and got that 80mm fan popped on top of my top card. Also added in an extra 140mm fan next to the cards for some added cooling.

No more frying my cards now lol.

It is possible. How are you verifying the power usage?

It makes a big difference doesn't it and it is so cheap too! smile.gif

Thanks for sharing the pic!

Guys, hoy many degrees lower do you think will give putting a 80 or 92mm fan on the back of the card?

Since my motherboard is matx, cpu is pretty close tp the gpu. I think a fan there will blow hot air from cpu to the back of the gpu. So, dont know if this will really help.

Btw Im running single 980ti.
