Heard yesterday some buzzing sound when playing Crysis 3 but was not all the time, just in some moments.
Going to be hard for us to say with those numbers (% don't mean much).
Your best bet is to run the most real power hungry game you have, Firestrike worked good for many, don't know if anything has change in yr or so .

Then note the max % of TDP/power , then you will see if 139% has headroom (IMO need like 10% at least ).

Also post your system and vid specs so we can give better answers or guesses .

Heaven, Valley and FireStrike need 15-18% overhead. Catzilla takes a little more. I set the power limit to 125% and that's enough, even FFXIII @ 4k.
Hope this helps!

Yes that's considered fairly high, especially if you ask someone with 60 wink.gif

Not at all. Max BOTH of the sliders, you'll be just fine it will help the GPU overclock better and prevent power throttling it will not hurt it. If you have coil whine it is going to happen regardless. A BIOS won't fix coil whine or create it, replacing the card does. The noise will vary depending on the workload presented of course.

Having said that, don't let yourself become "over sensitive" with the sounds. Just keep an eye on temps. Running with the voltage and power % sliders maxxed is thoroughly tested. Don't be afraid to do that, it is just allowing all the power and voltage that is configured in the BIOS, nothing "additional/extra".

I have 9 fans....4 intake, 5 exhaust... Noise? What noise..The 65 gallon tank and my family drown out the PC noise! biggrin.gif
I got my temps down Laithan. 65C max @ 4.5Ghz 1.117v. I didn't feel comfortable running any higher than 65C since Spring and Summer will be here in no time. By then maybe I can afford a full water loop. I think my overclocking of the CPU is limited to the H100i GTX.

Just a reminder, I am still looking for the F10 DD BIOS:

┼ Gigabyte GTX 980Ti G1 Gaming (F10 BIOS) DD Version

I am planning to post both DD and DP versions, already modded to make it easier for others to flash but I only have the DP version right now.

Thanks in advance!

UPDATE!

NEW GIGABYTE GTX 980Ti G1 H2O BIOS

MUMOD Release Candidate #1 (This one is going to be close to final if not final)
H2O_RC1F4_980TiG1.zip 304k .zip file
Both DD and DP versions included

What's new in this version?
✿► New file naming convention starting with this version to help avoid confusion as we support multiple BIOS' in this thread.
      ▬ Filename Key: H2O_RC1F4_980TiG1
      ▬ GREEN = Cooling type (AIR/H2O)
▬ ORANGE = Modified BIOS version
▬ RED = Gigabyte BIOS version
▬ BLUE = Which GPU the BIOS was developed for

Inside the ZIP file you will find BOTH the DD and DP versions of the F4 MOD BIOS (H2O_RC1F4_DP.ROM and H2O_RC1F4_DD.ROM). You are not required to flash both of them. You only need to flash the one you are using. See the knowledge base in the OP for more information regarding DD vs DP and how to verify which one you are using (very important!).

✿► H2O_RC1F4 is based upon our proven V4BETAF4 and V1BETAH2O BIOS
▬ Voltage / Voltage table modifications
▬ Maximum voltage has been increased to 1.293v (1.287v in BIOS)

✿► Super Throttle Bug fixed (finally)
▬ Turned out to be power related.
Note: If needed take note to copy the ENTIRE power table especially under the max power section.
These values now have meaning to a MOD BIOS.
▬ Evidence the STB is no more.. I can't throw any harder of a test at my GPU than this!

Right-click and open in a new tab for HI-RES

0.1 second increments finaltestH2O.txt 1508k .txt file

Q.> WHO can flash this BIOS directly?
A.> This is an F4 BIOS. It is compatible with Gigabyte GTX 980Ti G1's with an F3 or F4 BIOS (F0,F1,F2 never released to public).

Q.> Are all Gigabyte GTX 980Ti G1's compatible with the F4 BIOS?
A.> They are ALL compatible with the TWEAKS found in this BIOS but there are different REVISIONS of the G1 cards. For example the first 980Ti G1's shipped with HYNIX memory and use the Fx BIOS'. Later Gigabyte struck a new deal with SAMSUNG and started producing a new REVISION of the same card but just using SAMSUNG memory instead. The SAMSUNG revision GPUs use the F10 BIOS which is the F1x version. You'd need to extract your current BIOS with GPU-z, view it with Maxwell BIOS Tweaker v1.37 to find out exactly what BIOS you have.

To be clear, REGARDLESS if you have an Fx or an F1x revision cards they will BOTH work/perform identically with the BIOS tweaks offered here. smile.gif The difference is just who can flash them directly and who needs to copy over the settings to their own BIOS. It can be confusing but if any questions just ask! smile.gif

nice work! just flashed it and ran ffxiv (4K Max settings) on my G1 980Ti with F4 bios at 1586/4000.
benchmark scores and avg fps went up compared to f4 beta h2o bios:

f4 beta h2o:
Score: 6500
Average Frame Rate: 50.035

f4 rc1 h2o:
Score: 6679
Average Frame Rate: 51.528

on the beta bios i saw a LOT of core clock dropping to around 700Mhz on 1586/4000, now there is some slight dropping to 1530 and my gpuz log at 0.1 refresh rate shows power perfcaps while throttling to 1530mhz (i think thats what perfcap 1 is) and a lot of perfcap 16 (i think thats util)

i will attach my log so you can check it out for yourself:
