GIGABYTE GTX 9xx H2O/AIR BIOS Tweaking ┌(ô益ô)┐ - Page 352

Thread Starter
Ok after taking a closer look at the fan settings for the waterforce's radiator fan:

(1) The STOCK fan settings are mathematically incorrect again. doh.gif

(2) I corrected the math and also improved cooling since this is a MOD BIOS.

Note: The eXtreme and the Waterforce have a different BIOS version but both are F10.
Version 2.1 only change was to correct fan settings

Yeh, when I was looking at bios it didn't mater if it was Asus, MSI ,EVGA ,Gigabyte , they all many times had errors .

That said, I am not sure all those fields are used but it safer to have it setup right .

Also for those with silent mode fan curve, make sure all 4 fields (Per01, Per11, RPM01, RPM11 ) are 0 or you'll get spikes in rpm (on/off/on etc) .

Gratz!

Thanks! Managed to finally settle on 1580 / 4055 which is stable with no artifacts or crashes on everything I've tried it on at 4K such as FFXIV Bench loop for 2 hours, Unigine Valley & Heaven, Just Cause 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider thumb.gif

So I used the 980 Ti Waterforce BIOS from the OP here, tweaked the fan settings on it to default for a low idle and manually set a more aggressive fan curve to keep it at or below 60C.

Afterburner settings:
+90 mV
130% power
+94 MHz Core
+398 MHz Memory

I'm hitting 1600 MHz on the core and 8000 MHz on the memory. Any less on the voltage and it won't boost to the full 1600. Trying for 1610 was not stable, so I'm right on the edge of what it will give me.

I'm just curious how safe this really is. On the stock BIOS, I could hit about 1550-1570 MHz or so. As I understand it, the voltage is capping at 1.293 with this BIOS. With the stock BIOS, I believe I was hitting 1.237 for max boost.

Any feedback or suggestions?

Hey Laithan.

I've noticed i can reach my current 24/7 clocks with 1.212mV, is that weird?

Clocks are 1551 core and 7990 mem, card is gtx 980 g1 gaming, no TDRs and no PerfCaps with this bios. 980_d_d_1212.zip 136k .zip file

Can you find anything wrong with it?

Following up my previous post...

I would still like to get that 1600 MHz, but I'd prefer to keep the voltage as low as possible to achieve it. I think the BIOS included here is a tad more aggressive than I require. I guess my options are to increase the max voltage on the stock BIOS for the maximum boost states, lower the voltage on the BIOS from this thread to where I want it, or to just lower the voltage slider on the new BIOS to lower the maximum boost state achieved and then increase the core MHz to reach 1600 at that state.

Again, any feedback would be appreciated. I'm new to this. Still learning.

got my replacement cards in today...one was whining louder than my original! so looks like i'm sending one new and one old back and i'm keeping these because the liklihood of getting another loud card is quite high again mad.gif
BUT I flashed your bios and everything is running great aside from a bit of whine thumb.gif

well, someone can help me understand whats going on?

I've a GTX 980 G1, downloaded Gamestable BIOS a while ago, then that BIOS...

The thing is... the core clock by default is 1531 Mhz right? for start i can't let that there, i start seeing artifacts(not much) on Rust for example(curiously not on GTA V or The Witcher 3), if i decrease to 1518 the problem is solved, but that's not the thing disturbing me... i can't overclock almost ANYTHING on memory, if i put on 7.500 i start seeing artifacts, if i put 7600+ it start giving me driver crashes on Rocket League

things are so bizarre that sometimes i get crashes on games, minimize and then appears: THE APPLICATION HAS BEEN BLOCK FROM ACESSING YOU GRAPHICS HARDWARE(never see that in my life), seconds later > GRAPHICS CARD STOP RESPONDING

Config:
i5 3570k 4.6 Ghz
asrock z77pro 4
gtx 980 g1
cx 600w corsair
2x4 gb ripjaws ddr1600

maybe its my PSU?
i'm buying in a few days a i7 6700K, already bought ddr4 3200 mhz and a MSI Krait Motherboard, but that GTX 980 makes me too sad to upgrade my PC frown.gif

Hi and thanks for this awesome bios Mod I did flash the DP bios for my 980 ti G1 Gaming and managed to get up to 1520/8000 with only 150% PL and without overvolt however ,when running Heaven benchmark I see the core speed went down to 1480 in the end of the benchmark and temp maxed out @ 76c in a 25c ambient .
another issue is GPU-Z read my core boost @ 1696 while afterburner OSD shows 1520 I dont know if its a glitch or something wrong.
