And by never be identical, you mean TDP or power limit table?

Unless Kepler works fundamentally different than Maxwell, those BIOS values don't look stock to me at all.

TDP default/maximum can be the same but overall power allowed to the GPU, at least on Maxwell, causes problems if they are the same. People that like to force full power without having to use an O/C app would set something like 400000 for default and 401000 for maximum so that the actual desired voltage (400W in this case) would be achieved by default.

GPU stability is so fickle.

After getting a little more input to my questions (thank you!), I decided to just run the max power and voltage allowed in the custom BIOS to achieve 1600 / 8000.

It has been stable for nine hours of Battlefront, the entire Crysis 3 campaign, five hours of Rocket League, and a few other games thrown in, including some Star Citizen and Elder Scrolls Online. ESO in particular has been fairly unforgiving to my past overclocks. I also survived countless runs of Firestrike and Unigine Heaven. Zero crashes.

But after all of that, Ashes of the Singularity is consistently crashing my card within 5 minutes of playing. Disabling the overclock fixes it. Looks like I'll have to settle for 1580-1590 or so. The OCD part of me is not pleased. mad.gif

So basically, if you guys want to test stability, I'd suggest picking up Ashes. It seems far less forgiving than other, older applications.

Hello guys , i have a 980ti extreme windforce edition , it has 2 bios modes 1 standard and 1 for ln2 that i dont really like , so i was thinking to mod the standard ones and place it to the ln2. My card can do an overclock of 1570mhz on the max boost but i really want to see 1600mhz stable , so i was thinking to raise a bit my voltage to 1,3V . My power limit is at 130% so i dont think that i have to mod something else. Here is my bios file of the standard bios , any help would be nice! GM200.zip 146k .zip file biggrin.gif

* My asic quality is 76.1%

We have a BIOS already modded for your GPU smile.gif

Gigabyte GTX 980Ti eXtreme - F10 DS - RC2 - AIR
AIR_RC2F10_EXTREME.zip 146k .zip file EXTREME

This is not the LN2 BIOS. If you want to use that I have an unlocked LN2 you can copy over all the tweaks but I don't think it is going to give you any advantage to be honest. The additional power is only going to come in handy for LN2 mode. We've already worked out the PWR perfcaps with the standard BIOS.

PS. 1.3v would be too much on AIR with GM200.

Thank you! What i was saying is that i dont like ln2 bios i cant change color of the card either , so can i flash these on the ln2 bios place? I hope my card now make some good increases! biggrin.gif I didnt know that 1.3v is a lot for that card... i saw the tutorial on how i should flash the card but it is different from the 980ti g1 gaming that it is in it! It has only 1 dvi port and the switch for the bios is that X button.

No, the BIOS I provided is for the regular mode, NOT the LN2 mode. Leave the LN2 mode off.. even if you were using a water block I still wouldn't bother using the LN2 BIOS, it just won't help you.

Extract your BIOS with GPU-z (you need to back it up anyway) and open it with Maxwell BIOS Tweaker v1.37 to make sure it is an F10 BIOS. If so, then you can just flash the one I gave you. smile.gif

I have a ton of into in the OP and you have any questions just ask smile.gif
