GIGABYTE GTX 9xx H2O/AIR BIOS Tweaking ┌(ô益ô)┐ - Page 559

Hi,

I need some help determining which exact BIOS file I need to download for my GTX 970 G1 Gaming. I looked at my current BIOS via Maxwell Booster and noted that I have D_P and F2. My issue is that I don't know which file to download from the list of GTX 970 BIOS provided. If anyone can help me out that would be much appreciated.

PS. I have attached my current BIOS file.

If you are sure it is F2 then you are in the Group F1-F9 , so you would need this file from the 1st post :

http://www.overclock.net/attachments/32731

you can also get the official bios here and see the groupings

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5209#bios

get the NVFlash back a few pages posted by Laithan too ..ver 5.218

Thank you, but just to clarify; looking at the official bios page, does the NVIDIA Source BIOS Version have to match my stock BIOS version? I have version 84.04.1F.00.B4, but I don't see this listed.

No I don't believe so as the F3 bios for your card is built on that listed source bios from Nvidia , you currently do have the F2 bios built on the 84.04.1F.00.B4 Source , I looked at your stock rom , F3 is Correct for you as they group the bios something like f1-9, f10-f19, f20-f29 etc etc in groups of 10.

looks like you are lucky and have Samsung memory too which tends to OC better thumb.gif

no reason you cant flash the official F3 and then flash Laithan's MUMOD F3 afterwards.

PS. And no, that's not only way to get DD BIOS there are combinations of ports that result in a certain BIOS. The sure way to guarantee DD is to use DVI-D only.

Guaranteed DP is to use the last Display port. (and DP BIOS does not stand for display port fyi to all)

Hey Laithan,

thank you. Now flashed both BIOS versions 'correctly'.... noticed no difference but it feels correct now biggrin.gif

Another question:

I just bought Rise of the Tomb Raider. (WQHD,fullscreen, g-sync, all maxed out except of FXAA - instead SSAAx4. )
Thought that my machine could handle that game. But i get randomly strange random frame drops from 60+ to 30-40. Then I have to wait for entering a new zone or restarting game. Happens often in big areas (base camps).
Maybe the VRAM is too small ..all the time tomb raider takes 6000 MB Vram frown.gif

.. time to upgrade to 1080 with WQHD?!

Well,

it might just be my GPU being 77.0% ASIC but the BIOS flash didn't really do anything to increase my performance with the additional voltage, except unlocking CLK 74 boost table at 1531MHz core.

Safe to say even +30MHz OC over that gives red flashes of artifacts during 3Dmark11 testing.

At least the memory (Elpida) OC'd to 500MHz and 3Dmark11 didn't crash! Also added 4 fps on average, didn't try higher OC on the memory yet. But +500MHz on memory the performance gain was identical to +50MHz on the core clock (which was flashing all sorts of red during the benchmark).

these are my overclocks using the modded bios. what i dont understand is i couldnt achieve these overclockes on DP bios mode..but since i switched to DVI-D for my new 144hz monitor and now running on the DD bios, i can now achieve these overclocks and im stable.
