GIGABYTE GTX 9xx H2O/AIR BIOS Tweaking ┌(ô益ô)┐ - Page 565

Ok i sow something strange and wondering whats going on, so i made screenshot, it looks like artifacts i never sow before.... They appear when i look down on the ground, when i look in the center view they disappear.

Is my GPU burning or what? It is the same when reseting the MSI AB to defaults which is lowering voltage and power sliders to 0 ..

Ps. i reset the pc and the artifact's are gone from the same place i took the ss

GB GTX980Ti Xtreme Windforce:
Need some help again:
I tried to lower the % of the Fans in Afterburner.

At 16% the fans turn at 575RPM.

But if i lower the percentage, the fan speed and noise goes "Up an down" sometimes. I think they reach the "secure limit", and the card tries to speed up the fans.

Is there a way to get rid of this problem?

I have a silent system, and the GPU ist the only thing I hear when my HDD is off.

Please help me, sorry for my bad english and greetings from Austria wink.gif

Answer always the same, slightly lower your overclock thumb.gif

I agree, looks like a memory artifact. Lower memory O/C

I am testing the firestrike stress test and so far I think it could be promising... I got artifacts on this test at a speed I never did before. It's hardcore I think...

Greetings!

There IS such a thing as "too low" RPM (you may have hit it) where there is not enough voltage to operate the fan and it will behave erratically or not at all. This is normal... Just use 0 RPM for the areas you would normally want that low RPM and it should resolve the issue. thumb.gif

There is also a need to calculate the percentages, this post may help you (taken from my OP)

I don't think that the Fan Bios tweak helps me.
I just want to turn the fans at lower RPMs.

In Single Monitor Setting the SemiPassive Mode works great, the GPU never gets hotter than 40-45 degrees in Windows.
But when i use my seconder Monitor, and my TV, the card doenst reach the Powersafe state. So the card gets very hot without cooling, until the 55 degree limit.
Than the fans turn for a while, until the GPU reaches a lower Temperatur.

I think this is not a good way to cool a VGA. The VRMs get very hot without a fan I think.
Thats why I dont want this "fan stop" thing.

So there is no way to bypass this limit? Only on Windows Startup I hear that the fans goes up and down. (the graph says 0-2000RPM, just a Up/Down curve). When I set 100% in manual fan Control, and then activate the automatic mode again with my fan-curve, the fans turn quiet at 550RPM with ~15%.
I think it is a little bug of the BIOS.

I agree with you, in theory that you don't want to just let you VRMs sit there and bake.. However the details will explain why this isn't the case and you don't need to worry. The fanless mode is set to turn the fan on at 49C... this pretty much guarantees that if at any time the GPU is placed under load, the fans will in fact be operating and VRMs cooled. The only time it would be 'passively' cooling would be when the GPU is not under load.

If you want to have the fan on all the time and eliminate fanless mode you can do that also.. just copy the fan settings from the 980 BIOS.. it was before fanless cards arrived thumb.gif

The thing is that it showed up after several hours of playing and after i reset the pc it was gone, memory is on 1953Mhz, +400 on MSI AB
My pc didn't crash / freeze, just started to displaying them, so i removed the overclock entirely, but nothing happened until i reset the pc.

hello everyone, i have a question about reflashing my stock bios. i have a gigabyte gtx 970 g1 gaming and i get this no signal problem when i startup my computer occasionally (always had this problem). a few reboots fixes the problem but i decided to rma the card. i flashed a custom bios from Mad Dog Fargo and it works great but i need to reflash the stock dual bios so i can send it back. i used my nvflash backup to restore my stock bios but it has a dual bios and i dont know if i need to flash both. i tried to use the gigabyte vga @bios tool but it says i have the same verison bios and wont flash. can anyone please give any advise. thanks

Yes you would need to reset to get rid

As it looks like to me that the mem compression got messed up...

But i have allso seen a fair few cards with a similar like pattern but that where permanently on due to memory damage ...(not trying to scare u but its more likely be just the OC)

Just tone back the mem 5 to 10

What memory manufacture is it ?
