The good news: We can still MOD your GPU

The bad news: I cannot find a F6x 980 G1 BIOS anywhere. This means that we just need to ask for it from someone, or they never made a F6x 980 G1 (the fact that there is a WF3OC F60 BIOS tells me there is a VERY good chance they produced a G1 F60 ALSO... there IS an F60 970 G1). I wasn't realizing at first that your BIOS would be the WF3OC BIOS not the G1 BIOS.

So.... it's your choice, we can ask if any 980 G1 owners have the F60 BIOS and please share with us (may take some time, not sure if anyone has it or if it even exists) smile.gif I think we just did. tongue.gif

-OR-

I could just mod your F60 WF3OC BIOS. It's the quickest way to get you the tweaks. It will still be a WF3OC BIOS technically but with all the identical G1 settings so performance should be almost identical aside from the cooler differences.

If you can mod my bios to match your G1 that would be amazing. smile.gif

Thanks

From what I can tell, that *IS* the G1 BIOS also, just named WF3OC. I compared the NVIDIA versions from F51 and F60 and it was basically the identical series.

Just remember to max out both sliders before you attempt to overclock, use a custom fan curve and use OSD to monitor temps.

Enjoy.

Hey guys, im having a G1 Gaming 970 which shows in the bios edit tool as GV-N970G1 GAMING-4GD_P/F2 so i figured i needed the F4 bios file however that one isn't listed in the OP?
Which bios should i look for now? smile.gif

Currently running with this, seems like everything is working fine right?

About the custom fan curve, i`m using the auto mode in afterburner so do i need to do any other tweaks to it or is it taking the fan speeds from your bios?

Thanks smile.gif

You are in the F1-F9 series so the F3 bios on the 1st Post is what you need AFAIK.

Kbrid is correct, you would want the DP F3 970 BIOS. There is no F4 for the 970.

Looks awesome to me! Excellent!

It's using the BIOS fan values which are DEFAULT (I only adjusted fan settings in the 980Ti BIOS') so you DEFINITELY want a custom fan curve.

Hi Everyone!

I have a G1 980 and am attempting to install the custom bios. I'm getting a Mismatch error when attempting to flash. Is there a possibility I already flashed the wrong official bios to my card and thats why the custom bios I'm installing is mismatching even though they are both the F42 series?

I originally updated my BIOS hoping it would let me view my MB BIOS during boot on one of my displays (sadly, it did not fix that and I simply bought a new display)

My overclocks lately have been really unstable and random, even around stock clocks. I swear I remember when I first got the card having it stable with +150mhz no problem, now it's just horribly unstable. I noticed while stress testing with the standard BIOS that right before my display driver crashes my vddc drops from 1.25 to 1.08 (That certainly would cause a slip!) Although I'm not sure as it could be happening right AFTER the crash, hard to tell.

Anyways back to the point: Is there a possibility I have the wrong BIOS installed and nvflash is recognizing this? If I get the correct custom bios installed and pump a bit more voltage do you think I can finally OC again? What are the chances I burnt my chip with the standard 87mv boost? (as I understand, impossible!) I even tried changing the PCIE 6-pin connectors on my PSU (850w modular)

Thanks guys.
