GIGABYTE GTX 9xx H2O/AIR BIOS Tweaking ┌(ô益ô)┐ - Page 593

If anyone is Running Realbench 2.43 and has updated to Win10 Anni.Version .1607 this week , you will need to reinstall your Nvidia Drivers as the Anni.Update reinstalls the M$ version of the file OpenCl.dll , which is used by the Luxmark OpenCL Benchmark , an intergrated part of RealBench , and it crashes with an error in Luxmark64.exe with the M$ file.

Edit : RealBench has been Updated to V2.44 this week.

Is the Anniversary Edition a mandatory (pushed) update, like all the other updates?

Not that I am aware of , my brother said he liked it , so I let it on to my new machine since if isnt fully installed with progs. etc yet and if I have to I can Clean install , although I did a full Macrium back up image just before incase I need to Roll back.

*** I have Pro though , not sure if Home Users will get it by default or not?

I have Pro also, only I watched a few horror stories of people on Youtube having to wipe everything because of the upgrade not installing right and bricking their system etc . At this point i just disabled my automatic updates. Just because of what they also remove with this update, which is group policy options.

MS sucks ass lately, I just wish that Linux/Vulcan would get off their collective asses and get a gaming OS ready so I can ditch Microsoft ... freaking hate them.

Was not aware of the Group Policy thing .....they just made Pro into Home smile.gif Win10 already pisses me off all the time telling me I need to be an Admin to copy files etc , I am the only User so Admin by default , so I can't even do **** on my own Comp.with UAC getting in the way. And the Default Builtin Admin Account is even more crippled.... tried that, thought it was the "Fix" to my UAC issue....

My CPU Temps have gone up 15-20deg.C though on 1607 even at idle so it is time to Roll Back to .494 using my Macrium Backup Image and try and figure it out. Maybe the new Intel Chipset and ME Drivers Asus released along with the 1607 Update causing it but not sure yet.

Ever think you would miss Bill Gates? I sure do.... say what you want but he made an honest buck... and never forced anything down our throat at our (ongoing) expense. I don't think he would have ever allowed this Win10 shenanigans..

Seriously, if you know what you're doing and know how to keep your PC clean there's no compelling reason to run Windows 10 IMHO... DX12 is looking like a bust... we don't need anything else it offers..

Think my O/S must be "tired"? Anyone want to compare boot times? I'll race you with bootracer thumb.gif

O/S is still solid and quick. The ONLY problem I see with Windows 7 x64 is that over time the WinSXS folder becomes huge from years of patching (and no you cannot delete anything in there, you need to run disk cleaner). Mine is currently 13GB.

Well done, nice choice. I am hearing some nice things about that BIOS. I think it will allow 1.2v.

One thing, you forgot to plug in the water cooling lines lachen.gif

Santa might bring that haha

Editorial note: See Gigabyte, if you didn't screw up this time around Arrow probably would have bought a Gigabyte...

Goals for Windows 10:
(1) Annoy the user of the O/S √
(2) Turn users into advertising nodes √
(3) Collect private information √

lol

Not for nothing, but EVERYONE KNOWS you don't get ANYTHING these days for "FREE" anymore (outside of these awesome forums!)

Thanks mate, in fact it's the "regular", non OC version of the 1080 Strix, should be almost (if not 100%) identical with the other one and I might wanna do a bios flash soon.
Will think about "plugging in" on to the wc tongue.gif

About the Gigabyte thinking.gif

I really wanted to get an Extreme but it was very hard to be find and very, very expensive, ~ £50-60 more than I paid for the Asus (btw, it came packed and shipped from the Asus directly) wink.gif

That might be the one you'd want to try (you have to do your own homework but I think this might work wink.gif)

It's a sharp looking design too, I like it smile.gif

Hope Volta come in next year as planned and hope they implement 4k 120hz / 144hz for it so i can actually upgrade and want to see Witcher 3 with hair on on 8 AA and with HBAO to run 70 fps at least, otherwise no need gpu, thanks. Not like Pascal Titan X 59 fps but they go with hair off and SSAO - hahaha!!!
