MUMOD BIOS is like a gigantic mountain for me xD

I would like to edit my bios so it doesnt get below 1.2240V i dont know if its just a quick edit of values save and done or is it more deep editing

Cheers

That's possible to do but it would be a bad idea as it would generate a lot more heat and pushing a lot more voltage than is needed when not under load. It's best to let the voltage table increment the voltage as needed. Is there a particular problem you are having?

Hello Laithan, thanks for getting back so soon! Please find attached the original BIOS which I never fiddled with yet. BTW are all 980Ti's from Gigabyte integrating a secondary PROM or just the G1?

Thank you very much! GV-N98TWF3OC-6GD.zip 145k .zip file

You will need the F10 version in the attachment above.

According to the BIOS you attached it is a DP BIOS. If that's the same one that you extracted from your GPU then you would need the F10 / DP thumb.gif

PS. Yes they all have 2 BIOS'

You MUST flash the correct one.

I mean i dont want to do something crazy, i just want the voltage to be 1.220 or 1.2430 when under load instead of stock 1.1990 when temps go over 70.

Now I have the NVFlash_Certs_Bypassed_v5.287_x64 and AIR_MUMODV1.0_980TiG1_F10_DP.rom.

From what I've read the steps should be:

1. If this version is uninstalling the GPU from the Device Manager then I won't need to manually do it prior flashing
2. Open an admin Command Prompt in the folder and type nvflash AIR_MUMODV1.0_980TiG1_F10_DP.rom

Is there anything I am missing?

Thanks again for all the help!!!

yup, no need to uninstall drivers or even disable the gpu, NVFLASH will do that for you. I would recommend looking at "How to flash a modified BIOS" in the OP. I also posted a different version of NVFLASH that I would recommend that you use.

It sounds like you are very close any questions let me know.

So I used NVFlash 645.218

1. nvflash --protectoff
2. nvflash biosname

I have rebooted, then re-enabled the GPU as it was disabled in DM. Installing driver soon.

PS There was some going dark screen and some noises which I assume are normal when flashing.

Thanks smile.gif

quoting myself here, i can also flash the bios and then use it with +00mV = 1.237v since the Power limit is at 150%

Great to read stuff from this thread

MSI AB can actually use a precision skin that has the K-BOOST button.. and it works smile.gif There are guides for this on the interwebnet if you are into K-BOOST.

What GPU do you have now? If you have a GTX 10x0 then yes, you are going to have to deal with throttling and inaccurate GPU-z values until we can MOD (if ever).

There's no need for anyone to use Precision's K-Boost anymore, MSI Afterburner has done it better.
Push "Ctrl+F" in Afterburner and it will open a voltage curve graph, you can select any step on the curve and push "L" to lock it, aka K-Boost it to that voltage and clock.
You can also save a profile with the lock/K-Boost enabled and one without, and switching between profiles will enable and disable it.
Since you can enable profiles via hotkeys, you never even have to open a program to enable MSI's K-Boost, you just push 2 keys on your keyboard.

Precision's K-Boost is less flexible, you can't choose what voltage and frequency to boost to, and you can't save it to profiles, so you have to open the program and click the button every time.

I have an MSI 1070.
I hope somehow we can deal with the encryption someday :/
