Why flash both bioses? only flash the one that you currently using mate...

This is a TDR and is usually caused by a GPU overclock that is too high. If the same O/C is stable in other games it definitely doesn't mean it will be in this new one. Set to full power and voltage but +0Mhz on the GPU/MEM and try again. If successful increase +10Mhz on GPU only and repeat until unstable.. same for memory after.

I am glad you stopped to ask you could have messed things up. There's a good chance that you aren't activating the correct BIOS to flash the "other one". The way to activate the other BIOS in these cards is debatable between a great idea and the dumbest idea.. a simple physical switch would have been so much easier....

Short answer: You only need to flash the BIOS that you use. I only use DP and my DD BIOS is still stock.

Longer answer, there is detailed info in the OP regarding DD vs DP. Give it another look if you haven't already. If you NEED to flash BOTH DD and DP this certainly can be done but requires a thorough understanding of how to switch (and VERIFY) which BIOS you have activated when the PC is powered on (that's the only time it can change).

The Official Bios Download at GB includes a PDF on how to change DD to DP etc , just don't use @VGA as they suggest in the PDF to flash. But basically attach only DVI-I port & flash and then an attach only DVI-D port and Flash.

You can check the current bios by extracting the Bios with GPUz and opening it with MAxwell Editor 1.36 and seeing if it says DD or DP at the Top as part of the Name of the bios.

UPDATE [10/6 / 6PM PT]: We currently have a patch running here at the studio that includes 30, 60, and unlimited frames-per-second options in the video menu, among other improvements for the PC version of Mafia III. We’re verifying the patch now to ensure everything is working as expected. If everything goes well, we expect the update to go live this weekend. We will be keeping the PC community up-to-date on the status of the patch throughout the weekend and thank you for all the feedback!

I mean seriously... NOBODY thought of this until NOW? Why wasn't this included on release...if you can have it ready tomorrow thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Thanks for all the answers, I will follow the advise keep the flashed DD (MUMOD) and keep stock in DP.

Regarding the Custom Fan BIOS Profile, to apply it I just need to alter the current fan profile bios (MUMOD Bios) using Maxwell Bios Tweaker and reflash it again correct? Or can I apply the fan profile a different way without reflashing?
Is there any custom fan profile specifically for 970 G1? or it doesn't matter if it's 970 or 980.

Sorry for all the questions, I am quite new to this...

You'll be waiting a long time... I don't think we are getting one.

Yes you would always need to re-flash if any changes are made to the BIOS. Let us know if you need any help before flashing. thumb.gif
