GIGABYTE GTX 9xx H2O/AIR BIOS Tweaking ┌(ô益ô)┐ - Page 699

Like I said nowhere near 1600mhz.If you want to go further, just add more core clock/mem clock until you´re seeing artifacts/crashes in whatever benchmark you are using.Driver crashes are a strong indicator for unstable overclocks. After you´ve reached you´re stable oc in benchmarks, run some games.

Edit:You can ignore Voltage in any program(they talk ****).If you are using MUMUD bios you HAVE TO max out voltage and TDP slider. If you havent done that yet do it and you should hit higher clocks.

I have maxed them out. Based on my research that seems to be the best rom ...or am I wrong... When I hit 1555 like I saw at a guy who sold it to me I will settle...as I have every other component 4xbetter than in his system.

Just do what I said to find your max overclock.I´am using MUMUD bios too +/- a few modifications and I´m running 1622/2065 for benchmarks and 1600/2000 for gaming. My FireStrike 1.1 run:http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/19327623
79% ASIC

Mother of God 1600 :O
Id really would like to know what the hell you did to get there biggrin.gif
Strange thing happened.... now to get same clock I no longer have to dial +200mhz and+600 ...now +100 and+400 gets me to 1556? Strange> YES !!! I guess those driver crashes/recoveries put things in place ...Im gonna DDU Uninstall the driver and fresh install...(which I dod not do after bios flash) frown.gif and will see where will that get me....
After that Im back here. Hope I get anywhere close to your score....Its crazy smile.gif

Generally theres no need to reinstall drivers after flashing.

Rank 12 in HWbot leaderboard , 2nd best 980Ti and beating some OC´d 1080´s smile.gif
Im also beating my dad´s 1080 Xtreme Gaming at 2.1ghz and I dont understand it.Do you know why this could be ?
I was Rank 10 originally but any 1080Ti that gets submitted is beating me.Sadly cant do anything against that :/
http://hwbot.org/benchmark/unigine_superposition_-_1080p_xtreme/halloffame

I also did some FireStrike and broke my original record.

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/19327623

That graphics score is incredible.I think the CPU score should be a bit higher but I only did one run.
Also Im gonna bring my CPU back down to 4.6ghz and try to break 23000 GPU score since I seem to hit lower GPU scores
if my CPU is clocked over 4.6ghz.

Im planning on doing some DICE overclocking in the far away future to hit some nice scores.
Maybe even the 980Ti (if I upgrade to a never card) but thats still a long time away.

You've got an awesome GPU there! I'm going to have to see if I can match or beat your score but I'm thinking no doh.gif

Congrats bro and thanks for sharing!

Bought this used G1 980Ti , owner said it had custom BIOS (which it didnt), It had 82% ASIC score and I applied special thermal paste which I use in my HIFI builds for trannies/regs etc... anyhoo a good piece of silicon lotery, you'd think...
First thing of course is running benchmarks (Fur/UNI...) and testing with MSAfterburner... funnily all I could do with any setting combo was +120 on clock and +200 on memory and with occasional crashes...mostly on WatchDogs2, GTA V and Witcher 3...all 1080p.
Funnily after reading how good an overclocker this card is I was dissapointed and especially given high ASIC score...only 5-6FPS boost in furmark.
Bought SS 1050W PSU hoping that would help , but no change whatsoever... on the other hand I managed finally to get my 4770k to 4.5-4.6 on air...below 100C

THANKS
for this bios

I am now hitting 20ish + FPS boost in Furmark and heaps better scores in others.
ONLY thing is I REALLY do not know what speed I am running now as different programs report different values.
I have it now stable at:
V = +100
PWR Limit= +150
CORE= +220mhz
MEM(samsung)= +600 mhz

and now the party begins...
GPUZ shows
6s9.png

Especially take a look at a 1676mhz boost clock value in GPUZ. Seems unrealistic...and my values for clock/mem on the left side seem low compared to others over there...what's going on?

I flashed ROM from first post in this thread for my card...F10 for Gigabyte G1 gaming 980Ti

Also any info on your results with this card would give me some pointers. Thank you

1670Mhz is just too much, it's probably because you're adding the same overclock to the MOD BIOS as you did with STOCK. You need to realize that the MOD BIOS increases the core and boost speed for you already so LESS will be needed in the actual O/C APP. You will DEFAULT (+0 Mhz) to 1291Mhz core and 1455Mhz BOOST with both sliders maxxed.

Stock BIOS and MOD BIOS default CORE and BOOST clocks are not identical. This means if you (with a STOCK BIOS) used to use +220Mhz for your overclock you'll need to forget about that with the MOD BIOS as the base values (therefore the O/C values) do not match. Start with +0Mhz on the GPU. You should boost at 1455Mhz.. Add +20Mhz and re-test until you crash then back down -20Mhz to find your rough max O/C. With the MOD BIOS the boost speed it shows is the boost speed you will get (when both voltage and power% sliders are maxxed out). Most with the MOD BIOS can get into the low 1500's boost.

Hope this helps explain if not let me know smile.gif

I know there are more posts, didn't read them yet so this may already be answered smile.gif

Now you should know why this is happening. You just need to forget about +xxx and look at ACTUAL speeds in GPU-z smile.gif

Driver reinstall not needed.. You're working just fine you just needed some info smile.gif

Thanks guys
Just will have to do some more testing when I wake up and report back....
Initial thought that i went back 100mhz was wrong.
Listen ...Im not sure if I already had modded bios installed...it said F10 in info...anyhoo on that one 109 was MAX and +87mV was MAX so I guess it was original one.
On that (original) I could only do +120 core and +200 mem ...and on this new one i am testing +220 and +600 and that ( not mean to be an arse here ...Id buy you a beer now if u were here smile.gif ) contradicts what you said that I now have to use lower values as modded bios has higher default clocks if I understood.
I am not quite sure what is happening... I got some weird crashes on startup of benchmark tests before writing that post and thats why I lowered it a hundred...mystery as I've been running them whole day without problems.
Just out of curiosity what are your settings on your 980ti's (+core and +mem)? I mean values tongue.gif ...I will continue testing tomorrow some more and report what I think is happening.

Thanks a lot for help guys
Seeya tomorrows

EDIT
please explain this +220/+600 .... core clock at the top ???
wxc.png

Now got 21387 (only) graphics score in Firestrike 1.1 .....15481 score altogether combined...blah blah at reported GPU core speed of 1512mhz
So who is mad here? except me smile.gif

Edit2 :
Liathan saying that 1670 is much I agree... but see Mimax's AWESOME score and first pic where GPUZ is... similar values to mine ...and he's saying he's getting 1600 , would love to see bottom of that 3dmark pic to see what speed it reports...anyhoo now with stable card in games my gpuz reports max value of 1655 ... so again Im not sure have I exceeded my 1555 goal or I am just reading fairytales...?

It seems like you´re pretty new to GPU overclocking and I think tahat you dont really understand what you´re doing there :/Maybe take it a bit easier and understand everything completely.

Hello. Thank you for making this BIOS. I have the Gigabyte G1. Because I am mainly using Linux (for development) I cannot use Afterburner and the other tools etc. but still wanted the fans to kick in earlier (and some default overclock is nice to have). I already flashed the 980Ti G1 air BIOS and it seems to be working fine. Is there anything I need to know or can I keep using it like this (without being able to run Afterburner etc.)?

My goal is just to have a better default, not to overclock it more than the BIOS already does.

MOD BIOS is not flashed unless the power limit goes to 150% and voltage goes to +100mV

It's very rare for a 980Ti to reach 1600Mhz+

STOCK BIOS behaves very differently and doesn't show accurate boost speeds in GPU-z, that must be known.

MOD BIOS will show you actual boost speeds in GPU-z.

There's really a lot of "general overclocking" practice/studying that you might need before jumping into a MOD BIOS but you're getting a crash course (literally lol)

Hi there bud you're welcome. Yes we can customize a BIOS for that will not require MSI AB. This is the ONLY reason I would support this otherwise would push to just use MSI AB.

You'll want to identify your max stable boost speeds (under the worst conditions) and also let me kn ow what you want for a fan curve.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the fan settings so let me know if you need some more details from me. I have a link about fan speeds (BIOS) in the OP also, FYI
