For a 970 (MOD BIOS) it's pretty common to get between 1550Mhz and 1580Mhz with quite a few hitting 1600Mhz+

Yo Laithan, I would stay away from Gigabyte cards.Go with Galax/KFA2´s HallOfFame edition cards. They have a core and memory voltage tool. Evga´s Classified cards also have a voltage tool for memory and core.I saw a video where somebody live oc´d his 1080 classified and got to around 2.3ghz with ~1.2V.

1080 yes but I doubt that can easily be done with the 1080ti, the power usage would be pretty insane, not to mention the card would almost guaranteed need to be under water (maybe even chilled). Most of the current AIB cards are triple slot and already reach high 60s/70 with modest overclocks at 1.093v. The GTX 1080ti loses stability really fast at temperatures above 70 degrees (for me personally, its 25mhz for every 5 degrees above 70).

Laithan is a water guy.Completely overkill rads keeping his 2 980Ti´s heavily OC´d at ~42C°.I doubt temperature would be a problem.

Unreleased? Can't find details. I would never buy EVGA because I disagree with past (possibly even current) marketing and price gouging but hear some good things about HOF cards.

Are you sure about 1.2v? With a STOCK BIOS? Why would anyone buy any other brand biggrin.gif

The 1080Ti for sure would be much hotter than a 1080 (just like 980Ti was hotter than 980) but IMO the biggest issue isn't heat it's software based limitations (BIOS) preventing the hardware from performing to it's potential. You can put (2) 8-pin connectors however that could be restricted to 250W... or 450W without restrictions (for example).

Yes Laithan 1.2V.These voltage tools dont get promoted officially. On KFA2´s website when you go to the 980Ti HOF they mention the voltage tool " voltage tool developed by ethusiasts".On 1080 HOF the voltage tool isnt mentioned but should still work. Here are two videos.I think he was using a classified.
