It is well known that classy cards had a programmable voltage controller BUT the Pascal cards were a big ? until now smile.gif. So HOF cards also do? So Classy, HOF and Matrix?

The question is, how many other custom PCBs offer a programmable voltage controller? The 9xx G1's didn't... not sure about the Xtreme cards.

Gigabyte cards dont have a programmable voltage controller. At least none of the tools work for my card and there is no tool for gigabyte.Yesterday I wrote an email to gigabyte.I asked why the card has an LN2 bios for subzero cooling if we cant change core and memory voltage.Maybe theres an inoffical tool but I dont think so.Still waiting for an answer. At the moment the 1080 matrix doesnt even exist.HOF 1080´s should be the same as HOF 980ti´s but they dont mention it on their website and I didnt find anything about that.

Would be nice if that's all we needed to do was ask thumb.gif

Kudos

2.5 slot width is a problem for me.. so I'd have to (I would anyway) throw full cover blocks on them. Never checked if EK made blocks for HOF, I assume they do will go check now. post-flame-small.gif

I was thinking the same thing! Still hard to wrap my head around no bios editing tools ... what's this world coming to redface.gif

+R to Minium for some thought provoking info/links ... thumb.gif

Yo guys
I just did some voltage measuring on my 980Ti Xtreme Gaming. My card has a "normal" and a "LN2" bios using the LN2 switch. In my normal bios, the voltage is set to 1.3V but I measured 1.256V.Increasing the voltage in the bios didnt raise the measured voltage(@Laithan).Switching to the LN2 bios from gigabyte, the max voltage in the bios is 1.275V.Without using any tools, the measured voltage was 1.256V again.I was able to raise voltage slider in nvidia inspector to ~ +231mV but again I measured 1.256V.Since its an "LN2" bios and the card has an extra 6Pin connector,it makes no sense that the max voltage is 1.256V.I took a look at the PCB and maybe found something I (we) know from cards like 980Ti K|NGP|N edition. On the back of the PCB there are 2 potential things to solder together(connect) and potentially unlock fancy things.Without a way to unlock specific voltages this whole LN2 and extra 6-pin connector would make no sense at all.

I dont know if these 2 things are meant for that.I just looked at the PCB and thats the only potential thing I could find.

Ok boys here it goes...

Regarding my previous post...I do not know in hell how the hell I managed to run this card in Heaven and 3d Mark at 220/600 ... after instaling MOD... and I was not high or anything...smile.gif
Was getting 21000 in 3d Mark and 132FPS in Furmark ... NOW with 220/600 I immediatelly go into crash and best I can do without issues is +90/+300 giving me effetive and REAL speed of 1545 for core and 3800ish for memory... I guess it is not too bad for 82 ASIC? could be better I will be testing some more ...and reading biggrin.gif lol
I ran Superposition on Extreme and got 4330 score... not many to compare to though ...but they go into 4400-4800 range ...clocked bit just a bit higher.

I know you praise Samsung memory and loathe Elpida...well I got Sasamsung on mine and cant hit the 4000 mark without crashes...go figure...I've seen sone

Again , this is nit picking...got boost over stock that I can only dream of with stock so all good there...this is just a perpetual wish that we all have to see is our card THE BEST smile.gif lol

If I am in the range of being okay with these scores could you tell me is there difference between drivers OClock wise and which oune is best? Apart from that if anything else can be done to boost the OC HW or SW wise please DO TELL ! smile.gifbiggrin.gif

spec:
4770k@ 4.5
980ti G1
z87 GB HD3
3x8GB corsa vengeance (one died)
1050 Seasonic powerhouse

thankya

edit:
Another HAHA moment.... just for fun I applied previous +200/+600 mhz values ...and Superposition gave me 4100score with 1455 mhz /2050mhz clocks ???!!!!
So basically with +90/+200 I get 1545mhz on core and with +200/+600 I get 1455 . Any explanation I can come of is that the BIOS sees CRAZY+200mhz OC value and reverts back to original clock which I think is 1455... and maybe that explains score results that are all over the place. Anyone can comment on this?

If your memory cant hit 4000mhz you cant do anything.Same for your core clock.I dont really know what you are doing but just flash MUMOD onto your card ,run a freaking benchmark and check the stock clocks in GPU-Z.After that start Unigene heaven or something in windowed mode and open afterburner, max out TDP and Voltage slider and check clocks again. Then do 20mhz steps on core until you see artifacts, then go back 20mhz.Now make 50mhz steps on memory clock until you see artifacts again. Then go back 50mhz.The result of your overclocking will be your best overclock you can get.If ur not going for record graphic scores, there is no need to optimize clocks for specific benchmarks or to play around with them.If you see artifacts or instability(something like random game crashes, freezes or driver crashes) in games back off a few mhz again.Different drivers wont help you with overclocking. Please do everything I just said and post your FINAL OVERCLOCK here.Maybe even some benchmark scores too.Your 1545mhz core clock isnt bad at all but if your memory doesnt want to hit 4ghz, it wont hit 4ghz.

Thanks Minium...thats a nice informative reply that I wanted. Will do all of that and report back... On this card only so far I noticed that memory overclock yields good results...which wasnt the case with all my previous cards...so Ill do first core and then memory pushing and after that Im gonna push memory first and then clock and we'll see what gives better...but rule is of course that core OC gives better return than MEM OC...right? replying in day or so
Thanks heaps
