EDIT: Still has the issue, if you touch the P00,P02 state it renders the voltage mod absolutely useless.

From an Nvidia Customer Care rep on official forums
Code:
What tool did you use to mod your VBIOS? What changes did you make? Technically we do not officially support modified VBIOS but we also did not make any changes to forcibly lockout cards with modified VBIOS with the last couple of drivers.

Thing is my bios has always worked flawlessly before hand and now it doesn't. The new 1070 Ti is rumored to be un-overclockable and I can see this being true with the way the recent drivers are acting with some modded bios. mad.gifmad.gif

EDIT2: Just noticed this is for Gigabyte cards and just checked one of the bios at the main page, the P00,P02 states weren't even touched so they should work. Yalls bios has 2 more main voltage sliders then mine though, could anyone tell me how to obtain the missing one? I'm just going to copy all the H20 bios settings to my Zotac Amp Extreme bios and flash or if you'd like to take a look Laithan

More info on the card if it helps, 2x8 pin PCIe, running 2x6 pin to 1 8 Pin adapters x2, Memory is Samsung.

Bios I was going to copy: H2O_MUMODV1.1_980TiXTREME_F10_DS

BonestockAMPExtreme980Tibios 146k .zip file

Your BIOS is "locked" (and you really want to use YOUR BIOS) .. you can unlock it yourself, check my other thread: http://www.overclock.net/t/1560073/mbt-1-36-and-gm200-bios-voltage-sliders-missing If you need help let me know you need to do this first (those missing sliders control VOLTAGE THROTTLING and values in the voltage slider O/C app) thumb.gif

Sounds like you modified CLOCK STATES instead of BOOST STATES.. Honestly, leave those @ STOCK values... those can definitely cause issues.

What do you mean locked? Those are the stock bios, my modded bios I could go up to 1274mV on Afterburner and see higher with an actual DMM, unless you mean locked as in the 2 missing sliders.

Guess I should drop the modded bios I used, these are the ones that don't work anymore with the new drivers.

Modded.zip 152k .zip file

These are the ones I used before and never had issues with. As you can see the P00,P02 states where modded, this causes Error 43 in the new drivers apparently. Setting it back to default 600mV - 1600mV makes the bios work on new DRIVERS but I can't up my voltage past default.

On to unlocking the "missing sliders" should I just 0 - 0 the 4th one since it's not used apparently?

Also I am going to be using my bios, the stock one as the template and copying all the stats over from the Gigabyte modded one you made. Don't wanna have to throw my old GPU in again to fix a bad flash as the AMP Extreme is massive.

Yup, missing sliders

and exactly, so you:

(1) Unlock your BIOS using the instructions on the first page of the OP (Or if you need help I can unlock it). Do this with a FRESH stock copy of your BIOS, don't use a modified one to start with (just to ensure you are starting with all stock values)
http://www.overclock.net/t/1560073/mbt-1-36-and-gm200-bios-voltage-sliders-missing/170#post_24491973
here is link ^

(2) Open both your stock and now unlocked BIOS along side with one of the MUMOD BIOS' in the OP of THIS thread and yes copy ALL settings in ALL tabs, 100% identical.. triple check to ensure nothing was missed. It's important because even a slight tweak that seems harmless could throw off the MOD.

(3) Flash the new MOD

(4) In Windows, ensure that you max out BOTH the voltage and the power sliders before attempting to overclock. This is required as both sliders are fully functional and anything less will restrict the GPU's maximum power and/or voltage.

(5) I don't know that GPU so firestorm may be needed to allow full voltage (You're probably already familiar with the voltage controller on those cards)

Appreciate the pointers and help, I'll get the sliders unlocked and throw up a copy here so you can take a look and make sure nothing looks iffy, I'd use one on the first page of the How To unlock additional sliders, but those are older then mine. thumb.gif

EDIT: So this would be the correct way to do it? 0 - 0 the extra unknown slider, 850 the two above it?

Sure thing, here's the stock bios with sliders unlocked. These are the newest available bios for the Zotac AMP Extreme if you'd want to add them to your old how to tongue.gif

AmpExtremeNEWESTBiosUnlocked.zip 144k .zip file

This is how I unlocked the sliders hopefully it was correct.

I zeroed out the 4th "Unknown slider"

Alright believe I got everything copied accordingly from the H20 G1 Extreme 980ti Bios to my Zotac Bios

Care to take another once over for me, only thing I didn't copy was the memory clock as the Zotac one is higher out of the box.
