I have Asus mother board and today I went into the bios setting and changed it from "Normal" to "Asus optimal" settings. I turned on the comp and used it for 15 to 20 min.

I later got scared of damaging my comp and changed it back to "normal" mode in bios.

Ever since then When ever I turn on my comp it turns on for 3 sec then shuts of them automatically turns on and im able to use it normally.

How do I get it so when I push the on button it turns on like it normally did?

Why is this happening to my comp and how do I fix it?

I would reset the CMOS and should be fine. There may be a button to reset it or just yank the battery on the board for 30 seconds and then put it back in (with the system off and unplugged). You will have to setup the system time again, but you can do that in Windows without issues (just boot and windows should update the time automatically).

Hope that helps.

The automatic shutdown and reboot is normal. Every time I changed my overclock in ai tweaker, it would do that. Finally I left it, after 30_60sec. It booted to the desktop. I have the Asus z97 a.

I know my Asus board everytime you change something drastic in the bios it will restart, then it shuts off, powers on, shuts off, powers up and then continues to work as normal. Some options through Asus also need a full shut down to take effect I feel.
