Whats the point in ocing and old onboard gpu when you got a fairley decent PC anyways...

Or are you just messing about with some old gear to see what you can do with it.

i have the same type of graphics on my Sony VAIO PCV-RS410 desktop and the graphics are horrible! i just bought this system for $1700+ last october and now the only thing about it that isnt obsolete is the processor, hard drive, RAM, and the optical drives. and i have a feeling that if you can overclock it you can run new games smoothly on a medium detail and a 1024x768x32 resolution. so is there any way to overclock that card/chip???

You can try to do it with a software program but I highly doubt that you can speed up intergrated onboard chips. NEVER buy intergrated graphics mobo's to play games with! If you are gonna be playing Diablo they are fine but other than surfing the net they are useless.

Notebooks are quite expensive and really what you pay all that money for is portability not performance in benchies and games. $1700 bucks could have gotten you one sweet rig with an x800pro man

I think we've been over this. You should not overclock an onboard chip even if it lets you. It will be putting undue stress on the mobo.

i'll answer my own question, then! (since i did have a muck about with my i5-2300..)

yes, you can overclock / tweak the HD2000/HD3000 from 850mhz core to 1100mhz, no other options available..

interestingly the Win7 WEI score for desktop graphics didn't change a jot from 5.8, but the Gaming Graphics managed to hit a solid 6.0 from a 5.8

pointless info i know, but facts all the same ;-)
