Yeah I meant like, are you saying prediction is bad for hitreg in Source?

not having prediction would mean that the client waits for the server to send what it thinks is the current angle before updating the screen

i.e. you get (your ping) more input latency
definitely not worth it

Yeah I know what prediction is, I just don't see how it can hurt registry. I mean, your stuff gets networked the same regardless right?
The way sending inputs to the server is implemented in source is bad for hitreg because prediction uses slightly different timings for inputs than are sent to the server -- the result is that timings are consistent but don't match your monitor, because your monitor isn't synchronized with the input commands. However, if it used the alternative method for sending inputs to the server, timings would be inconsistent even though they would match your monitor. It's a problem with literally no sensible solution. The only perfect solution is for the client to run at a fixed framerate, which is impossible to ask of any game.

unrar and replace RInput.dll with the one above

open a command prompt in that folder (make sure nothing is selected and shift right click anywhere in the window)
start csgo
alt tab to the command prompt and enter
Rinput.exe csgo.exe

Not to sound like an ass or anything but people in here are experiencing the placebo effect...do you think all the international pros go through this kind of thing? Nope...they just sit down and play cs at a high level. Do you think all the tournament organizers go through this when setting up the players computers? Nope. They just set rawinput 0 or 1 (their preference), set windows slider, turn on/off enhance pointer precision, set in game sense, mouse dpi and done...nothing else to it...some special Rinput or setting isn't gonna make you a better player.

works for me. right away i can't tell if its better or worse but if it doesn't drop inputs like the old rinput did then it's certainly better. tyvm you two.
