Simply right click on your C:\users\desktop folder and click on the previous versions tab. Click on the time and date you want to restore to and voila.

By default it doesn't let you go back too far in time. In my case it would have let me go back 2 hours.
I have a LOT of it in my recovery folder. I just did this though. Last one was yesterday morning. Told it to do it and its copying everything back to the desktop folder. Afterwards Ill try moving it back where its supposed to go.

For small and portable you can grab a WD 1TB 2.5inch external for $70 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236576&cm_re=Passport-_-22-236-576-_-Product
For larger, stationary, and needing a power adaptor you can grab a WD 2TB my book for $100 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236715&ignorebbr=1&cm_re=WD_2tb_desktop-_-22-236-715-_-Product

External drives go on sale quite often on newegg so you can keep an eye out.

For example todays shell shocker on newegg is a 3 pack of 1TB external drives for $150
http://www.newegg.com/Special/ShellShocker.aspx?utm_medium=Email&nm_mc=EMC-SD032015&cm_mmc=EMC-SD032015-_-SD031215-_-item-_-22-178-245&et_cid=16451&et_rid=16446&et_p1=

EDIT: there are often time subscriber exclusive deals as well. can subscribe to newegg's eblast promo to get these in your inbox daily if you don't mind. I get 1 email every day for shell shocker deals, listing all 5 deals for the day with the promo pricing.

If it's of any concern Western Digital's RMA process is stupid simple. I have only ever needed the serial number of the drive. thumb.gif
