use latest DDU to do clean uninstall and use the installer from NVidia, not windows update. Extract all the files from the exe to a folder on c:/ . It will look like this. then install from setup.exe

Hey guys, I'm in a dilemma right now, I was thinking of getting a GTX 960 4gb g1 gaming. Then I saw a deal selling the EVGA GTX 780 ACX at almost the same price.

Which should I go for? Will the 780 have issues with future games with DX12?

[Edit] I'm mainly intending to run games at very high to max settings at 1080p. Thanks!

That's a tough call, on one hand the 780 is a little faster but on the other the 960 can come close or even better it when overclocked. The problem is that the 780 can be overclocked too.... As for features the 960 is a little ahead of the game. Personally I would go with the 960 as it does more at a lower TDP, I have the 2gb G1 gaming and it is fantastic for my needs @1080p. If power is of no concern to you and the 780 has 3gb or more of RAM on it then you may be better off with that. The extra 2gb of RAM on the 4gb versions of the 960 is not really worth the price hike in most cases, the sweet spot would have been 3gb but it never happened. I have had to drop a few settings in the newer games I play when my 2gb is saturated but ultimately the difference in visual quality is almost unnoticeable unless you walk right up to something and take a close look at comparison shots. The 4gb version will eliminate the need to drop texture res for the most part.

As far as I know the 780 should be fine with DX12 but the 960 will be better able to utilize certain code which will likely become more commonly used as DX12 matures, just like tassilation when DX11 hit, even though a GPU supported it the next subsequent generation would outperform in that regard even if it was slower in other areas.

I hope this was at least of some use.

Firestrike 1.1 or Firestrike Extreme 1.1?

Firestrike 1.1 and I was referring to my graphics score not overall. I have since broken 9k with this card (GPU score) smile.gif

i have almost 10 K firestrike score with my 2x 960 sli, i'm first place in setup specific class. that's with a FX-6300 and 2x gtx960.
they are both MSI gtx960 Gaming 2gb, but one of them is a Limited Edition.

My Galax GTX 960 EXOC Black Edition SLI setup got 10574 on stock settings (1266 Mhz) with an i5-4690k (stock as well). Its pretty good as far as gaming goes - seem to be getting about the same performance I did with a GTX 980 I once owned.
