Looking to overclock memory but have never done it before

Thread Starter
So how would I go about doing it? I have been really lucky with Kingston memory from my last builds so if all possible I want to stick with their products. I'm looking to get a 16GB kit of Kingston Savage Red DDR3 2133 Mhz memory and the tech from Kingston told me that this memory is set-up from the factory to run at 1333Mhz but capable of running at 2133Mhz once overclocked. Since I have never overclocked memory before I was wondering if somebody could give me a little walk through of how to do this. Thanks!

I had the same question and I eitehr missed any tutorials on here or they dont exist. So Im bumping this thread hoping for a response/link with the best practices. Ive seen the regular eggheads on youtube doing memory overclocks but I prefer the experience from users on this forum over anyone on youboob

Bump! I want to overclock my g-skill ares 16gb kit 1600mhz, cl9. I have an asus crosshair v formula-z with amd fx 8350 running @ 4.8ghz, I've overclocked it using fsb, so I only get certain fixed numbers for my ram to run at. I've just left it @ 1599 since this is the closest to the default, but next available frequency is 1920 and I'd really like to get it to that frequency. But I don't want to do anything by guessing, I already know that I'd probably have to change my timings to get it stable. But I don't know which and how to do it on my specific board.
