Despite certain flaws like low PCS, the accuracy of the MLT 04 sensor found in the IE 3.0 is incredibly accurate.

Makes it extremely hazardous when hunting for an Authentic IE 3.0 due to so much copying and manufacturing of these babies. Downside is if you buy a fake one inside they skipped on everything including quality hardware so you get really screwed by the seller.

Best thing to do is buy an old Secondhand model because nearly always it will be real and then you clean it up, swap parts (ie switches, scroll wheel) and it becomes a solid mouse for another decade or so.

I have a "fake" IE 3.0 according to the links, although it performs pretty much the same as my old legit WMO.

It OC's to 8k polling but I have it at 1k right now.

I don't have a fake, sorry. Those photos are from another guy's blog(S.Korean). He bought a brand new box packaged IE3.0(x80) from amazon(about $50 and shipping cost), but It turns out a fake.
and lot number 1149 is most common evidence of fake in S.Korean community.

/ There're 3 types of mod ie3.0, 1. all fake 2. genuine pcb with fake upper shell(painted) 3. genuine pcb and genuine shell(painted).

They use mix(genuine/fake) parts(wheel, cord, or upper shell...) to make up for missing parts for one mouse. and they replace original stickers to new stickers(which contain 1149 on it, same sticker that used on all fake ie3.0s) to make it look brand new product.

ppl buy "mod" mice bc they think those mice are type 2 or 3, yet it's hard to tell which one using genuine pcb. and hardly can believe those sellers.

Word of note here, have to use a small monitor - the max size being 24 inch.

Anything larger, like in the 34 inch range then forget about moving it across your mouse pad, you'll have to chuck it across and have someone catch it for you, to place it upon the huge mouse pad you'll need to use cool.gif .
