A decade back I had at least fifteen Trinitron 17, 19 and 21 inch screen monitors and they are all now rotting within Land-fills, I cry every night for that despicable decision that I made all those years ago.

The IE 3.0 had loved all those monitors and it worked perfectly, throughout all the editions that came out of Redmond Central.

Is there any sure fire way of telling if the PCB is legit beyond mouse tester graphs?

the only test that matters is the ms paint diagonal lines test

it will never give a false positive. if you do, that means that the fake is, itself, legit, despite being a fake. so it's not really a false positive.

I was doing better with my WMO than my G100s. Maybe it was because of the shape. I haven't used them both in the same day.; I usually switch weekly.

Could you elaborate a bit more? I mean if you are comparing to a mouse that also has very little angle snapping how will you differentiate between a legit MLT04?

The MLT04 outputs diagonal movement increments at low speeds. Every single other sensor that I know of outputs axial movements at low speeds. This results in the visual difference in the image I posted on page 3.

A fake wouldn't bother to hunt down a non-MLT04 sensor that does output diagonal movements at low speeds. So if extremely slow movement speeds in a diagonal direction look like the MLT04 in the image I posted on page 3, then even if the mouse is a fake, and even if the MLT04 inside said mouse is a fake, it's still a "genuine fake", and there's nothing to worry about.

Are these not made anymore? I have at least three of them in storage. Ordered a bunch of these a good five or six years ago for work.

Ah right, thats what you were testing.

Here are my results from my ? fake IE 3.0 that I just got from Ebay (seller jeason2188 if anyone is interested).

As I said, in game it performed pretty much the same as my old WMO, as well as two modded ones I got from aliexpress.

I guess it confirms its the real deal (or, at least, performs like one!).

Thanks for your help, repped.
