A little late, and terrible timing with personal plans, but it's a date... It just had to be as imperfect as possible.

Seems that is the one area Amazon could really improve: timely stocking and shipping of new computer parts. They've been slow on a lot in recent memory (X99, i7 5XXX cpus, 970s/980s, DDR4). They're on the ball for media/books though.

I think the thing you're missing here mate it that people who buy Titan X do not care about this type of calculations , they want best GPU available and that's it, no amount of calculation is going to change it.
And we established long time ago that Titan X dos not offer very good value for money, want bang for a buck get 290X or similar.

I agree none of the Titan guys care about p/p.. period. biggrin.gif

But, they may care about how long the Titan X can remain king of the hill... this is what one is paying a premium for after afterall.... lol
And, if even the top performance crown's longevity isn't a consideration, then, oh well, to each their own... tongue.gif

King of the hill with 12GB of vram! Even if something faster is released, the 12GB vram argument holds strong! wink.gif

Are there any reviews that show performance @ 3440x1440? I had a look around but I can't seem to find any yet :h34r-smi

You bet. .. tongue.gif

This is the argument I would make, if I owned one... lol

Unless someone is running a crazy resolution "today", half of that 12 gb vram is gonna sit on its arse waiting for the future to catch up to the proofing part. . tongue.gif
However, by the time that future arrives, there will be another Titan Alpha which will have "proper software optimization" support for current gen at that time..... lol

But, sometimes, it's fun just to upgrade for the heck of it, provided one has the time to keep selling and buying every two three months (which I don't) .... lol

O, I don't know, when 4gb is just becoming mainstream for NV, that the games sponsored by it will be targeting such a vram allocation. I am not a game programmer, but, I am sure between dx12 and driver optimizations, there may be ways to improve visual acuity six days till Sunday.... lol

Skyrim is getting old, and SOM doesn't have a high replay value as is (I didn't even other finishing it...lol)

What's interesting is that apparently AMD's cards may be able take advantage of the DX12 improvement, even on the old gen.... so if one owns an AMD card or plans to purchase one, he or she may have less risk of "planned obsolescence" (or forced upgrade ... tongue.gif). just saying.. sorry to digress. ... lol

guys, what would you say is a better option - 2xSLI TitanOG @~900euro or a single TitanX @~1100?

I'd be using it for rendering and UE4, not that I really need FP64 but I'm primarily concerned on driver optimization and support

any opinions? you think that's a fair price for a TitanOG? They look good, not really pushed/OC etc...

Thank you!
