Is a couple hundred MHZ extra on a 6 core going to make that much difference?

Um, does anyone who has SLI and 4K been able to play a game yet where the FPS dipped under 60FPS on max settings? I've been going through my games any haven't found any yet....This is amazing since I built an X99 System w/ 4 980's in mind and now I'm wondering if I should return some stuff before it's too late and do a Z97 system instead keeping my 2 Titan X's...I don't see many SLI benchmarks for this card. Anyone have any besides the super short and non descriptive digital storm one?

I think SLI works in those titles? Elder Scrolls and DayZ I am unsure of as they don't scream GPU intenisve to me. Well I'm probably mistaken about ES as I haven't gone full crazy and modded the snot out of it. The increased Vram may help with the mods, along with the possibility of lower temps without the need for SLI. Plus when the next Ubisoft titles comes you won't need to wait for an SLI profile thumb.gif

But I imagine it's not like you're games are running bad at all or lower than you expect. Unless you are like some of us who like new things you're better off keeping what you have as 2 980's is still quite the contender. There are the possibilities the new AMD cards will devalue the 900 series, but time will tell if that candle holds any light.

Yea I'm thinking I should just keep my 980's. They OC very well and I haven't ran into any issues running games. I don't really Play Ubisoft games except for Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 2. I just think it would be awesome to have a Titan X, just because haha.

I know the feeling. *looks at original titan in ones rig*

I don't have a need for this card either but I'm just hoping I can hold out until AMD delivers the 300 series. Not because the Titan X will be cheaper, but for improved cut-down versions like the Strix, Classy, Lightning. If they make a KPE I am seriously buying that even though it's useless for me considering I don't use DICE or LN2 for cooling.
