[Various] GTX Titan X Maxwell reviews - Page 9

Not all that impressed really. I bought the original Titan not only for the gaming performance but for the DP performance since I have several compute-intensive apps that I use regularly.

I was all ready to order 2 of these today until I saw that it's limited to SP. mad.gif

I guess I'll be waiting for June to see how the 390X fares.

The most interesting review is toms. Toms hardware used a new upcoming driver from amd for testing far cry 4 and it improves the performance of 295x2 a lot. Let's wait for 2 more days. I am sure the difference in performance between 295x2 and titan x will suddenly increase

You mean a driver that doesn't have Crossfire disabled. That only took 5 months to get released. That's not really improving performance, just putting it to what it should be.

For me, since I am a veteran of xfire (xfire 5870s till I got 7950s) the 295x2 is a better deal at 700. Titan X is a good card just disappointing price. Now I'm looking at AMD for xfire 390s or 380x.

So it nearly beats a titan Z that is still £1500 in the UK and you get to use 12gig of memory on the X biggrin.gif

£1000 for the X worth it ? When you look at like that it seems a steal

And about 30% faster than the current flagship at the time, the GTX 680. Sounds familiar huh?

is that your opinion this month?

Because it's a compute card that can actually compete with Tesla/Quadro's at 1/3rd the price.

I think you are mistaken, because the 780ti does not lose any benchmark to the 290x except in AMD optimized games (and the occasional other game). Does not matter the resolution except for that rare case where you would likely need more than 3gb VRAM (such as a multi-monitor 4k setup which I don't think is even doable till we get the new display port).

I agree that in the OPs scenario he should go Titan, especially if he needs the compute power. The Titan wrecks any game at 1080 and blasts the other cards at compute.

or is it the stance you take when this titan doesn't have it?

Well this was the highlight of my day, and I thought it was going to be a stomper of a card, its good but not exceptional that will be the Titan ZZ
