Fractal Array R2 Case Internal Dimensions......

Thread Starter
I'm looking at buying a Fractal Array R2 case to use as a Media Server, however I want to be certain of the internal dimensions of the case before buying as I'm looking at using a specific motherboard.

The case is listed as supporting Mini-DTX form factor, however there is a lot of confusion around regarding DTX and Mini-DTX form factors, even among so called professionals so I'm asking for anyone who actually has the case to check for me.

There are no manuals on the Fractal Design website pertaining to the case (I was hoping I could find a schematic that included internal dimensions) and the reviews around often use DTX and Mini-DTX interchangeably just adding to potential confusion.

The motherboard I'm looking at mounting has dimensions of 170mm x 225mm, it has two PCI-e slots allowing me to mount a RAID array card and a HD Tuner card, thereby making a suitable MythTV server in a small form factor.

So could someone who has the Fractal Array R2 possible measure the space in the case from left to right edge of the motherboard (front to back will be the standard 170mm ITX), if you have an ITX board mounted I'm trying to find out how much extra space is from the right edge of the motherbaord (looking from the back) to the right edge of the case, if it's around 55mm than I think I'm good to go.

Thanks in advance.

Tony

Yup DTX fits fine.... total case width is 245mm and you are right, around 55mm from the mitx mount to the side panel.
