[Various] AMD FreeSync Reviews - Page 110

The only decent reviewers i have found in Computer related hardware are.
  1. TFTCentral for displays
  2. JonnyGURU for PSUs
  3. Ino's Mouse reviews (and similar)
  4. Tyll's measurements for Headphone
  5. Martin's

That's it. I don't remember anyone else to be on the same level as those.

Having favorites is great, but those guys can still miss stuff despite being extremely good at what they do. The LCD-specific testing guys weren't reporting on the initial G-Sync upgrade kit 25-30 Hz judder issue, nor were they demonstrating the Swift's flicker issue when a game engine hitches (instant 0 FPS). Other sites don't have to be on the same level of thoroughness for them to identify and report on things that should also be considered by folks trying to make an informed decision before they buy something.

See..
I don't trust PCPer at all right now. after their Freesync review.
And when i was watching the video (about freesync vs gsync) i stopped when they started talking about what they see (that we can't see through the youtube video) so it requires a trust on my part to accept what they claim to see.
And that was the end of it.
Maybe later if they somehow regain my trust.

Every reviewer has had to make the same "Trust me" statement when filming VRR, because you can't capture VRR on a fixed rate camera. It is even difficult to capture tearing sometimes.

Your point is very weak, I mean what are you even trying to argue? You seen the damn oscilloscope on the table working in real time. Every other review site has mentioned the same issues PCPer tested with the scope. Months ahead of this we were talking about this being a potential issue with the technology as well.

None of this should be coming to you as a surprise!

What exactly don't you trust? That VRR looks a lot smoother in person than it does when filtered through a fixed framerate video? The problems PCPer talked about were confirmed by a polish review posted a few pages back, with slow motion video: http://pclab.pl/art62755-4.html In the 27 and 35fps videos, freesync is clearly in a fixed refresh mode(with the v-sync off fallback case), and g-sync is clearly in a variable refresh mode. In the rest of the videos, both displays appear to be in variable refresh mode(though it's possible they're hitting a fallback case at 144hz.)

Are these guys not forcing a situation (really low fps) that no-one will play in to say ones better than the other? My monitor rarely ever sees sub 40 fps, if you're targeting those frame rates maybe better to save money and buy a ps4 instead.
