[Official] AMD R9 Radeon FURY / NANO / X / Pro DUO FIJI Owners Club - Page 1099

I have the Nano now and for the most part, I'm fairly pleased. My gaming requirements aren't all that demanding either. 2560x1080 so that isn't much.
With that being said, I'm thinking about getting a fury (non X) to pair with the Nano but that just drops my Nano to Fury speeds. Is there any work around past this? I want another card to augment my performance, not gimp it.
Is anyone happy with their Fury's OC?
I'd like another nano but there is no amount of propaganda I could spread to get my wife to agree to spending another $500 on another Nano.

How opposed to buying used are you?
You can get pretty good deals on eBay. I just scraped up a Fury X in "Like New" condition for $250 a week or two ago. They did pull a quick one on me, but the Fury X works fantastically.

Check this out. They advertised literally, word-for-word, as:
"like new with original box."

Imagine my surprise when I unpackaged it and this is what they meant by "with original box":

I can't say the description wasn't "honest", but that's certainly not what I expected when they said "with original box" lol

So they couldn't be bothered with packaging in the antistatic baggy the card comes with? mellowsmiley.gif

Meh, for $250 what do we expect. kookoo.gif

I always use my antistatic baggies. Blocked my 480 and it now sits in the AS baggy in my EK RX480 box waiting to be used. biggrin.gif lol

What's in the picture is all it came with. I'm not sure what antistatic bag you're referring to but if it's not there then he didn't send it lol
For a second I considered messaging the guy and asking about why he just crumpled the box up and tossed it in there; but then I considered for a second that he sold it for $250. I should just be thankful I got a good working card for that cheap biggrin.gif

Drat! My mobile device won't get enough WiFi to upload my pic. :S

Anyway...

If you've ever purchased new gear, it's the baggy that electronic parts come inside of when you unbox. MBs, GPUs, Soundcards typpically. I could see your card didn't come with it because there were zero markings on your baggies and my XFX RX 480 came with a baggy that had squares printed on it's entire surface. So did my XFX 5770 and my 6870s from Sapphire that had a similar pattern on them. Should always repackage components in the AS baggy imho. I always do it when I sell a component. thumb.gif

If it was a slightly clocked fury X, why wait two years to release it? Surely they could have released it last year.

It's a fake. The reported clock speed doesn't even add up to what Vega will be.

"AMD’s “Vega” GPU architecture is on track to launch in Q2, and has been designed from scratch to address the most data- and visually-intensive next-generation workloads with key architecture advancements including: a differentiated memory subsystem, next-generation geometry pipeline, new compute engine, and a new pixel engine."

From AMD press release today.

I would like to see a new GPU from AMD that is designed to work with the new Ryzen CPUs. Not only because I have one but that kind of marketing strategy would be unbelievably valuable to AMD as a company. And I'm not talking a little boost. I'm talking 25FPS or better in ALL games. If they designed something that could compete with nvidia out of the box, the icing would be a boost from ryzen owners.
That would be exactly what AMD needs.
