Loving the Metal shroud though.......so much awesome in that alone biggrin.gif

With AMD maximizing the HBM with an interposer to stack the ram within the GPU, it sure is pretty cool to see how it affects the overall design of the GPU.  I'm looking forward to a R9 395X2 dual GPU PCB being about 10.5 inches.  Imagine that! hahaha

Now that would be awesome.....definitely means no more sacrificing power for a tiny LAN rig anymore! biggrin.gif

Depending on where you sit on that issue, the competition sets the bar high on price. So chances are from that standpoint it will be less.

I will be ready to put these bad boys to the test and it won't be a measly 4k or 5k

I just want to see the naked PCB and die. I want to know exactly how much real estate is freed, what the die looks like, can we expect a super short gfx card, all of this!

BTW, people asking/begging for 8GB versions, it absolutely will NOT happen until 490X (or later). This is first generation HBM and first generation HBM has already had its specs and limitations set in stone, which include 4GB maximum capacity. I'm too lazy to google it for other people, but later generations will get a higher total capacity.

Not gonna lie, i read the above bold part and laughed. I know you meant the GPU core but i kept thinking die and in death from seeing a naked pcb. biggrin.gif

I don't think I have been so excited for a GPU since HD6990 & GTX690. The thought of 2 of these pre waterblocked cards side by side is rustling my jimmies!
I'm not really that excited about HBM

Cuz.. it's cool and all, and makes the card smaller, that's great.. but performance wasn't really bottle-necked by memory bandwidth..

The shader increase ultimately makes up the bulk of the increased drawing performance.

So in that sense, it's still a linear race to GET BIG..

Of course, the next step is them stacking more shaders vertically.

Here's hoping we get a good 50% bump in-GAMES from the 390x.. redface.gif

Yeah, i'm really hoping for some reviews soon cause its so unknown right now.
