Which is why I said he could borrow mine to illustrate how ridiculous it is for this dude to say he hasn't been able to get his hands on one. Does he have 0 friends and 0 fans as well? I don't know him from a hole in the wall but would still let him borrow it no joke to solve this stupid issue.

why would you assume that statement is referring to using a single card for 4K?

Maybe because of the way it was written?

He lives in Russia.. and not in the most populated city.. Considering USD-RUB exchange rate I don't think he could find someone to give him a card even in Moscow. These cards are really expensive there + shops charge much more than the official Russian price + economic crisis and stuff..

And I reckon there are not many who would be willing to risk their card sending it via mail to another country.

I don't know what to do.
Fury X have 4GB, R9-390X have 8GB.
I will use card next 2 years and Install nice waterblock with EKWB Predator but I'm not sure what to do.
4GB on Fury X worry me. Why AMD didn't launch card with 8GB.

the RAM on the fury and x versions is still better than the 8gb from 390x. It has a wider bandwidth, and outperforms ddr5 to the point to where 4gb of HBM is still superior to 8gb of ddr5

Yea people try to convince me that 4GB HBM is similar as 6GB GDDR5 but somehow I'm not sure in that.
Anyway Fury X is much stronger and better card and could cost me about 200e more.
I don't need to afraid pump coil whine because I will install waterblock.
Maybe I made mistake... I bought 2 White LED CORSAIR Fans. If I back in Radeon club maybe I should use all Red Fans.
Red or Dead! smile.gif Anyway light from SBZ sound card is Red. OK I could sell fans easy to order Twin Pack Red.
Real Radeon DX12 monsters arrive with HBM2 and 8GB in 2016.

could also get the non x version, and save a bit, and get similar performance.

No crippled cards. If I need to pay similar price I would like to work with 100% potential.
Not AMD cripple them, brands overclock later again. When I have cripple card I save money than to upgrade as soon as possible to completely unlocked chip.
Always when some situation show up and I need few fps....example I could only set x2 AA or x4 I would thought Full chip could give me better fps.
With completely unlocked chips you know at least that's maximum from that architecture.

its not a crippled card. it is a card with a few fewer ROPS, and no watercooling. you choice though.

Fury have about 500 Shaders less than Fury X?

Firstly while 512 disabled shaders still sound like a lot. In all reality its the ROP's and TMU's as far as I am aware. If you look at it as its whole. Fury ON PAPER should be around 15% slower than Fury X. However real world testing has revealed that the difference is more on the lines of 5%-7%

Then a normal Fury still has the potential to unlock. You can try unlocking all 8 disabled compute units into a full fat FuryX. But in all reality that is hard luck to come by. However you have a much greater chance of unlocking 4 of the 8 disabled units and thereby closing that 15% on paper gap to just around 7% and then the real world difference becomes around 3%-5% with 3840.

However look at it from a price perspective. Do you want to spend 15% more for something that is only around 5% faster? Your choice. I made mine. I got to Tri-X's. Lemme tell you. These things are fast! wink.gif
