Sorry for no updates. I had a wrongly wired custom Power supply cable from ebay fry my mainboard and everything on the pci bus. Which included two Fury X. So I was up for a new mainboard, two Fury X and a random backup HDD that all smoked. It really put a dent in my watercooling project and getting around to volt modding. I am still waiting on replacement Fury X.

Had all the potentiometers ready to go but it just wasn't going to happen. I have a smoked fury X to practice my soldering on now at least.

Who cares if it beats it at 4K? The framerate is unplayable unless you consider glorious 25 (and you WILL get 25+ if you go deep into the woods +weather) -35 cinematic experience lol playable.

PS Oh and btw on most sites you linked wicther 3 is not played at max settings and Im not talking about hairworks. ( a mix of high and ultra, SSAO)+ don't forget 980ti overclocks like crazy.

Received my replacement Fury X this weekend. It still whines a bit - I'll get over it.

As it started to rattle (this time the graphicscards chassis) due to vibrations. I tried to open it and ****ed up like 2 of the 4 screws on the front plate.
Does anyone know which screws they use? Want to replace them asap. They might got stuck. Could someone suggest me a better fitting screw-driver?

To be honest no single card does 4k well unless you use two. A twin 390 or 390x or two fury is the setup to own if your serious about high end 4k gaming. The 980TI is only the better option for a single card. Crossfire just scales that much better at 4k. So for the argument of 4k gaming the 980 TI is just not the best solution. Anything else sure the 980TI it's a great card to have but if your aiming for 4k I would not consider it a first choice for a multi gpu setup.

If your really pushing for a 4k monitor and high end gaming then the fury is a much more attractive option at the high end.

Yeah, I agree.Single GPU max performance ->980ti(overclocked), multi gpu-> crossfire.

Where are you getting 25fps from? Every review he posted had the Fury X pushing nearly 40fps Average. I have The Witcher 3, but I never got around to benchmarking it, I never got around to benchmarking Ryse: SoR either.

My Fury X at stock speeds does very well at 4K. The only game that really hits it hard is Crysis 3. Yes the average 24fps felt as if I was watching a Blu-Ray DVD.

When it comes to games that can downscale their resolution internally, like Battlefield 4, what is better for performance?

To use VSR in drivers and set 3840x2160 in game?
Or to use the games resolution scaling function and set 200%?

I would imagine VSR is faster as it is purely hardware-driven and has effectively no overhead. thumb.gif
