The ASUS flavor of the card has UEFI bios available, but I was hesitant to flash my Sapphire card with the ASUS BIOS (even though they're the same card) without knowing for sure it was safe to do so.

I wouldn't recommend flashing the ASUS BIOS. I tried that in order to gain UEFI support and ended up with an unusable card.

I ended up contacting Sapphire customer support in order to get a copy of the original BIOS, and instead I've received a BIOS file that has UEFI support.

The files in this post also have UEFI support.

theres this thing, called a bios switch, that would help you if you do that.
1 shut off pc.
2 flip switch
3 restart pc, 4 flip switch and reflash bios

After Sapphire shunted me off to ATI, I received a zip file with a new BIOS and ATIWINFLASH 2.71. I'm curious to see if the BIOS files that are in that dropbox link match what the AMD guy sent. I already flashed the card and at least the card wasn't bricked. I haven't had a chance to try to boot with CSM disabled yet though.

I noticed with CSM off, I now can't see my m.2 drive. Which has me worried, since that was the whole reason I was trying to UEFI boot.

Guys,

I really need some help today, if anyone knows the quality of the Fury X PCB and components used for VRM power delivery etc and can give me an answer in comparison with Asus Super Alloy II used in their Fury Strix please reply.

Also, what is the expected lifespan of an AIO solution such as the one on the Fury X? How is the quality compared to other similar AIO?

Reason I'm asking is because today is the last day I can return my Fury Strix for another card, and I'm looking at the Fury X or the Sapphire Fury.

Acoustics are important to me, it has to be relative silent, but quality and longevity is also up there since I plan to keep the card for 3-5 years depending on the demands of games being released.

Edit: Another question, what card of the Strix or the Sapphire Fury do you believe have the best quality fans on the gpu? Are they similar? Reason I returned my first fury strix was that the third fan started making a rattling noise after ten days of use.

Can't help you with that.

Well if it's anything like my CPU AIO you have nothing to worry about for many years. Cooler Master is name brand and isn't new to AIO cooling solutions.

I'm rocking the Asus Fury X. No issues, no coil whine, no noise. I purposely turned everything off and ran benchmarks. The only noise came from the nearly silent fan. Temps were well below 50c. Good luck find one though. It took forever to find mine in stock.

Same here. My PC is on my desk right next to me. It's silent and I don't wear gaming headsets. You can control the fan speed. Initially the fan speed is set to 70 if the GPU gets to hot [which is never!]. It's silent. I turned the fan up to 100 just to see if it would annoy me and it doesn't. You can barely here it. I'm shooting for 3 years myself. My last GTX 670s lasted 3 years. I couldn't deal with Nvidia's buggy drivers anymore. The picture quality seems to be much better with AMD as well. I can definitely see the difference.

usually its 50-60fps outside except in battle or very intense spots. rarely have i seen it go sub 40's yet. It plays pretty good so far, but this will be one of few games that seem to scale out to 4 cards. The screenshots don't do it any justice of course they are quality reduced jpg's and all that.

On the crossover 44k i am using 2x2 eyefinity on 4 split screen. so i get 1.1 pixel ratios at 1080 per quadrant. The scaling is really good above that however i am sure i'm limited by PPI after that. I can say depending on the game textures do look quite better than say 1080, and marginally better than standard 4k. The biggest improvement is aliasing thanks to down sampling. At any rate this isn't much for demo but fury does have some power behind it.
