I'm getting just a tad more than my overclocked 390 at around 1590 points (390 was hitting 1545 I believe @ 1200/1700)

Try the test with higher resolutions you should see a big difference. 2560X1440 or higher. thumb.gif

I may have misquoted, my best scores were the above, but were actually at 1249/1640 ~. 200mv and not gaming stable. You can find the pic in my pics history.

For the moment my Fury X is in a Crossblade Ranger dualing with an A10-7870K, 16g of TridentX and a 1080 screen.

At stock frequencies, Cpu:3900; Ram:2133; Gpu1:1050; Gpu2:918, I'm getting 1657 in Heaven (rising to only 1680 with Cpu:4600), 8103 in Firestrike (rising to 8846), 3697 in Luxmark Sala Gpu+Cpu, and 9359 in Final Fantasy IV Heavensward (rising to 9873).

I'll do the Ram and iGpu/dGpu standard OCs tomorrow and then see how far I can push it over the weekend.

Whatever the outcome, comparing results with higher powered setups, this card and this system really like each other.

No coil whine but for some reason I get pump noise if I leave Firefox on for any length of time:exclamati.

Sounds like you need to follow BradleyW's manual driver removal instructions instead of using driver sweepers or just the AMD uninstaller. I used to only DDU until I began getting oddball problems that made no sense whatsoever. Now I do the Catalyst Install Manager uninstall, manual registry wipe, DDU then install a new driver. I haven't had any problems since with driver installations. Only problem is that I don't believe his method has been tested on W10 installs yet.

Temps look great on core, but no VRM reading... that sucks, but they gotta be pretty good....

* Can you find what the VRM temps are? This can be critical, most cards have passive metal plates on the PSB that dissipate heat away from the VRM's, which is kind of important if your OC'ing.

Ok lets go over some facts about the R9 Fury VRM. It runs IR 6811 high side MOSFETs and IR 6894 low side MOSFETs. At 125C the high side can provide up to 32A or about 384W to the GPU core. Without very heavy voltmods you aren't going to get over 300W power draw for the whole card(my card pulls 280W on the 8pins with 1.3V core). So that's safe. The low side 6894s can do 70A at 125C. There's six of so you get about 420A to core. Again without Vmods you aren't going to get anywhere near that current draw.
Finally we have the IR 3567B. This incredibly smart and annoying voltage controller will not let the VRM die from heat. If you hit 125C MOSFET temps you will end up with the core clock throttling hard(I've tested this on an R9 290X).

Unless Agent Smith1984 wants to take the card apart and stick a thermal probe into the VRM(which will also include getting some thermal pads because AFAIK the cards are using thermal "cement" for all heatsink contact) he isn't going to get a VRM temperature reading. Luckily this doesn't really matter.

I'm finally starting to dig this card redface.gif

Heaven 1080P with ultra settings and 8xaa @ 1075/550 (rock solid so far) looks like this (score was 67 frame @ 1682 points on first run bench, no pre-loop

This Crysis shot was @ 1075/550, True 4k @ 4096x2160P ALL MAX SETTINGS with no AA and it never dropped below 30!!

This is same settings with with system spec dropped from "very high" to "high" and ... I have to admit, these settings still looked beautiful, and played just as good (Crysis is my GO-TO game for testing CPU and GPU and CPU+GPU stability) Seriously? Crysis 3 at VeryHigh/High settings @ TRUE 4k and averaging well over 60FPS on a SINGLE CARD??? Yes! Count me in!
