Is it safe to run 1.3V at 85C?

yeah it is but the card might start to throttle a little.

I have had a terrible time trying to OC my second Fury X slave. Afterburner I cant even modify the memory clocks and Trixx is very unstable and 90% crashes when trying to modify the settings, under crossfire the whole PC locks up when Trixx stalls. It's very random when i am trying to set the settings. Only a few random times I was able to get it to work let alone test.

Any suggestions for setting core and HBM for my second card in crossfire?

Try ask Pulse88 from team MLG. He has a bunch of 4 way Fury X crossfire scores on HWbot. He's not on OCN but I think team MLG has it's own forums so you could try ask him there.

Before you do that. Do you have unofficial overclocking mode enabled in Afterburner. That should unlock the memory slider.

Another person happy with the ACER Predator....I might have to go nuts and breach my budget. The 27 inch 2560 x 1440 freesync offerings all seem pretty craptastic for the price. Eizo still hasn't mentioned a price or date on theirs. I am not a racing game guy more into shooters and mmo's etc. and have never gamed on a widescreen. Does it fisheye in first person games?

I haven't actually played any FPS games as of yet. I've been so damned hooked on what my race sims look like right now , I can't seem to find the time to stop haha.

What's weird is that in the driving sims , and on paper I should of gotten about double the performance of one of my 7970's. My crossfired 7970's should of been on par with what the R9 Fury is doing , but they weren't even close. The " real " driving sims such as Rfactor 2 , iracing , and Game stock car extreme don't do very well on crossfire or Sli.

Maybe it was the combination of using those older 7970's , on old drivers , I'm not sure. But the single 7970 struggled to make my race sims look good with descent frame rates on this 3440 x 1440 monitor. This new R9 , with new drivers ( 15.7 ) , and I am getting real close to triple the performance BUT....with all the eye candy turned on! I have everything set to max in these sims now , and even though my monitor will only do 75mhz , the R9 is staying steady at any where between 60-120 FPS.

Example : coming out of the pits on the track called Circuit of the America's , I'd get like 16 - 25 fps , it was like watching a slideshow. The R9 is around 65-75 FPS coming out of the pits , and jumps up to around a steady 90-100 FPS as soon as I leave the pits.

I get more and more excited about this new R9 card and this monitor combo every time I drive. Good times for me right now.

Ah yeah I have unofficial overclocking mode enabled, but it only seems to work for the primary card and not the slave.

I will look into team MLG, thanks for the advice. thumb.gif

Asus GPU tweak II 1.1.4.0 works really well. I can set the HBM and core clocks and no problems or crashes. Even better you can set it to Always 3D clock and it runs it at the max core clock 24/7 which makes the voltage stable even outside of running 3D applications.

I haven't figured out how to do separate overclocking for each card but I guess for a crossfire setup that's kinda moot since all cards run at the lowest clocked card's speeds.

Actually you can run different core and memory clocks on each GPU in a crossfire setup and it does still scale.

Hopefully I will figure something out when I get my 4 way Fury-X setup so that I can test asymmetrical clock scaling.

I think I figured it out there is a dropbox at the top for selecting which card and you can just untick Sync with all cards. It seems to work very painlessly. Very nice.

You can also force non stop 3d clocks in afterburner by running unofficial overclocking mode at "without powerplay support".
