Eizo still hasn't mentioned a price or date on theirs. I am not a racing game guy more into shooters and mmo's etc. and have never gamed on a widescreen. Does it fisheye in first person games?
I haven't actually played any FPS games as of yet. I've been so damned hooked on what my race sims look like right now , I can't seem to find the time to stop haha.
What's weird is that in the driving sims , and on paper I should of gotten about double the performance of one of my 7970's. My crossfired 7970's should of been on par with what the R9 Fury is doing , but they weren't even close. The " real " driving sims such as Rfactor 2 , iracing , and Game stock car extreme don't do very well on crossfire or Sli.
Maybe it was the combination of using those older 7970's , on old drivers , I'm not sure. But the single 7970 struggled to make my race sims look good with descent frame rates on this 3440 x 1440 monitor. This new R9 , with new drivers ( 15.7 ) , and I am getting real close to triple the performance BUT....with all the eye candy turned on! I have everything set to max in these sims now , and even though my monitor will only do 75mhz , the R9 is staying steady at any where between 60-120 FPS.
Example : coming out of the pits on the track called Circuit of the America's , I'd get like 16 - 25 fps , it was like watching a slideshow. The R9 is around 65-75 FPS coming out of the pits , and jumps up to around a steady 90-100 FPS as soon as I leave the pits.
I get more and more excited about this new R9 card and this monitor combo every time I drive. Good times for me right now.
