[Official] AMD R9 Radeon FURY / NANO / X / Pro DUO FIJI Owners Club - Page 660

Keep pushing!

I dismantled and repasted my Fury X this morning using NT-H1 paste and the results were dramatic; 49C is the high temperature I've seen so far in my testing at 1175MHz/580Mhz when my old temps were around 60C.

I didn't take pics, but the paste job from the factory was very uneven and haphazardly applied; I suggest everyone take a look at their own!

No one has any idea when if at all AMD ever gets around to fixing bugs in their drivers. They still haven't fixed the game profiles in any of the Crimson drivers. Crossfire will not disable on a 295X2 unless you install the CCC after installing the Crimson driver so you can manually create an application profile in the CCC.

yep every fury x stock paste apply is like that... did you change the thermal pad on the vrms?i am afraid to do it without a backup thermal pad in the house if i ruin the stock by mistake biggrin.gif

What is there to be afraid of? All you need to do is make sure its the same size and thickness. If you're already changing the paste might as well go for broke and change the VRM pad.

Any idea what the stock pad's thickness is? I was contemplating swapping both paste and pad out.

I can't say with certainty but if I had to take a guess it would be 1mm thick. Highly doubt its 0.5mm or 1.5mm.

What are the max voltages deemed safe for Fury to run at?

I didn't because it looked like there was good, solid contact between the pad and the pipe. I have a 12'' strip of 1mm phobya sitting here too but I figured that there wouldn't be too much difference in comparison to the TIM.

Hmm so I tried overclocking my fury tri-x and it's stable in games and benchmarks but it's weird in games
I OCed at 1120/550 +50% power +48mV , I'm not getting any throttle, temps never exceed 50°C but after like 20 mn of battlefront it stops working and i'm getting a driver error.
Also AC syndicate has artifacts on the menu even at stock
Is it just crimson driver being bad or unstable OC ?
