The Nitro version doesn't have a slide to switch between bioses. I'm aware there are 2 bios, one with the temp target at 75 and the 2nd at 80. The thing is my default clock is 1020 while the actual default clock is at 1050.

Anyways to load afterburner fan profile and trixx mem OC at same time on start up? Trixx fan profile seem to be wonky for me, it doesnt really load on start up, and afterburner cant to mem OC.

Has anyone flashed their Nano with the Fury X bios? I really like the Nano, but it seems that the voltage jumps around a lot compared to the Fury X. I've been messing around with both for the past few days and have seen that the Fury X maintains a stable clock speed with small variations during normal use, ie internet, docs, ... Compare to the Nano though, it seems that the core clock is constantly changing, as well as the voltage. So I was curious to see how the Nano performed with the Fury X bios and everything worked well. Booted, fans speed works, GPU-Z recognizes it as a Fury X. However, when using Unigine I found the FPS were near half of what I was getting with the Nano bios, but visually it did not feel like the FPS reporting was accurate. I also noticed the clock speed at idle was stable just like the Fury X. I did try overclocking the card and found that I was able to reach core clocks that I otherwise would not be able to. 1200 Core and 550 Mem with +24Mv was the most I was able to try and stayed under 60c in firestrike. I switched back to the Nano bios after a driver reset and boot failure. So i am curious if anyone has played with this?

Sounds odd that its fluctuating. I know the Nano is more aggressive in reducing clock speeds as it gets warmer which may be the issue. If you keep it cool enough by notching up the fan RPM is should stay fairly steady core and memory clock. Found I could maintain 1085 Mhz and 550 with no fluctuation with cooler cranked up and now even better under water which has removed the temperature aspect from the equation.

If you have not already, I would just crank up the fan and see if it holds stable.

Its not that I am having any issues with the Nano, it works perfectly, I just want the overclock-ability the Fury X has. The throttling is just a headache and makes it difficult to push the card. I currently have my Nano on stock bios set to 1100Mhz amd 550 with no issues. When I overclocked the Fury X I was able to push it past 1200Mhz with voltage at +24mv and the same with the Nano with the Fury X bios. So to me it seems there is more head room for the Nano.

The FPS reporting is the other issue, I am not sure how Firestrike or Unigine calculate FPS, or if the card sends the info, but what is was reporting did not feel like it was accurate.

I would not try to push the Nano upwards of 1200Mhz smile.gif Is your nano watercooled? If its anything like the R9 (non-x) the vrm's wil get VERY hot .. The Fury X is watercooled so i think thats the main difference and what makes it better at overclocking. My R9 Strix shuts down at 1165Mhz unless the GPS fans run at +90%... HURRICANE biggrin.gif
